Welcome to TCR Racing News

January 14th, 2012- Race 10 and the season is winding down. This night was special because the perpetual trophy was on the line and it is a very sought after prize. the day didn't start very well with Ty qaulifying 12th, crew chief's fault. The heat race that followed was better with Tyler taking the win after his friend #7d$ Derrick Stone, who was leading, flipped in turn four. Then it was time for the main event with Tyler starting from the outside of row four. The karts were on the track and ready to go but when the green flag dropped to start the race the whole field piled up in turn four just like last week. The race got underway and Tyler was running in 7th when the #72 of Brianna Puckett caught him and they put on some good side by side racing for about five laps but Tyler ended up passing her and then he took off and caught his friend #83jr Tanner Carrick who he passed on the white flag lap. Coming out of turn two the leader #1b spun and slowed up the second place kart #00 who got passed by #6, 90, and 07. Tyler was along side of the #00 for fourth when they headed into turn three and that is when it got crazy for a few seconds The leader crashed into the second place kart which in turn crashed into the third place kart and they were in the middle of the track. The #00 took the high side and #44 took the low side. The #00 got a little too close to the wall and crashed while Tyler had clear track in front of him. Tyler took the win for the fourth week in a row and took home the BIG trophy. It was a wild finish to say the least. AWESOME!!!

January 7th, 2012- Race nine of the season and first of the new year. Tyler qaulified 5th for the third week in a row which put him in the second row to start his heat race. Tyler finished second in the heat to #81 Colton Able. The trophy dash was the next race of the day and Tyler started from the outside of the front row. The flag dropped and Tyler raced side by side to turn one with #86c Carson Maasen. Tyler had a slight lead at the turn and made the pass. Tyler checked out on the field to win his third dash of the season. The main event was next and Tyler started the same as the dash, front row outside. At the drop of the green the karts from the second row back all piled up in turn four. Tyler and Carson raced off into turn one where Carson crashed Tyler. The entire field of karts was stopped. The race restarted with Tyler in the lead because the #86c had to go to the hot pits to get started again. The green flag came out again and they were off. The first half of the race Tyler held off #6r Ryan Williams and the second half of the race he held off #81 Colton Able to take his third win in a row. Awesome Job!! Check back next week.

December 17th, 2011- The last race of 2011 and it turned out to be a pretty nice day. Because Tyler did so well last week his sponsor (Mr. Duarte) decided to come back and watch him again and after this race we told him he had to come every week. Qualifying started the day and Tyler turned some good laps coming in in the fifth spot. The heat races were next and Tyler started his heat race from the inside of row two. The green flag dropped on the heat race and before they made it around one lap Tyler made the move under the leaders coming out of turn four to take the lead. Tyler led all the laps and took the win. After the long break it was time for the trophy dashes. Tyler started from the outside of the front row. The flag dropped and Tyler tried to beat the pole sitter to the first corner but had to fall in line and that is where he ran for the six laps of the dash. He finished second to continue his good day. The main event was up next and Tyler started from the outside of the front row. When the green lag dropped Tyler again tried to beat the pole sitter to the first corner but couldn't make the pass so he crossed behind him and took the lead when the kart pushed up off turn two. Tyler was hunting his second win in a row but before long he found the #6r of Ryan Williams wanted the win too. Ryan was all over Tyler coming out of turn four and twice got along side but Tyler didn't give and held on to the lead for all twenty five laps to take his second win in a row. Awesome Job!! Ryan drove Tyler as clean as he could for alot of laps, we applaud him for that. We will be back January 7th, 2012. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

December 10th, 2011- It was time for race number seven and it was a cold day for racin'. Qualifying started the day and Tyler ran fifth fast which gave him a good starting position for the heat, dash, and main. Tyler had an extra fan watching this day and it was his sponsor Mr. Duarte. The heat races were first and in the second lapTyler just clipped the leader as he spun in front of him and took the lead with a bent nerf bar. Tyler went on to win the heat race. Next was the dash and Tyler started from the outside of the front row. At the start the leader took off a little too soon and the start was waved off. Tyler and the pole sitter had to move back to the second row. The race got under way and in the first lap Tyler made a great move coming off of turn two making a pass under the 1b but in the middle of turn three the 1b crashed into Tyler and they got stuck together. I guess she doesn't like to get passed cleanly. The race restarted with Ty in fifth place and he managed to pass one kart to finish four. He was not happy after the race but we told him to take his frustrations out in the main event, and he did. Tyler started from the outside front row again but this time they got off to a good start. Tyler tried to make the pass before turn one but didn't clear the leader and fell in behind him to run second. The 2c (Colton Raudmen) running for his cousin 92 (Lexi Raudmen) ran a great race and for about eighteen laps Tyler couldn't catch him, but the next two laps the gap got smaller and Tyler made the pass coming off turn two. Tyler led the last five laps and had to avoid a couple of crashes to take his first main event win of the winter season. It was a great win. He has been so close all of the races and it finally came together. Great Job! Check back next week for the last race of 2011.

December 3rd, 2011- Race 6 and it didn't start out all that great during qualifying. Tyler ended up eighth fast and would miss only his second trophy dash of the season. Tyler did however run a great race during his heat race and won the race to put him into the main event. During the break we had cake for Michael Kofoid, Tyler, and Michael Ing. Happy Birthday to the boys! With Tyler not in the dash and the points leader #72 (Brianna)on the pole for the dash it looked like she was going to gain some points and she did by winning the dash. Good job Brianna! The main event was next and Ty had to start the deepest he has started a main so far, fourth row outside. The race got underway and Tyler drove a great race moving into the third position about halfway through. He tried a couple times to make a move for second but thought better of it and stayed in third. He finished third which broke his streak of four seconds in a row. Check back next week.

November 19th, 2011- Race five already and Ty was going into it with the points lead but only by two points. Tyler started by qualifying sixth fast which he was happy about but the team had to breath a sigh of relief. The good thing about sixth is Ty would start on the pole of the dash. The heat race was next and Tyler started from inside row two behind #7ds( Derrick Stone). The race started and Tyler moved into second place. Derrick only slipped a couple of times but Ty was unable to make a move. Tyler finished second and that would be good enough to start the main event from the outside of the front row. The trophy dash was up next and at the drop of the green Tyler got off to a great start and never looked back. Tyler took the win for the second week in a row. Awesome! We had enough time to fill the kart with fuel and it was time for the main event. The karts came around to take the start and Tyler got a great run on the outside but couldn't clear #10(Erick Nelson) and had to fall into third place behind #72(Brianna Puckett). They raced a couple of laps and coming off of turn two the #72 made some contact while passing the #10. Tyler almost made a move to get by but there wasn't enough room but he did move into second place. Brianna and Tyler raced hard to the end through lapped karts and some out of control karts two finish one, two for the third time in this short season. It was Brianna's fourth win of the season(This is the same kart that had the engine taken by Ali because he thought they were cheating) and Tyler's fourth second place finish in a row. For Tyler the short stay at the top of the points was over as the main win put Brianna back on top by five points. It was another good saturday of racing and we have the next two weeks off. Check back after December 3rd. Happy Thanksgiving!

November 12th, 2011- Race four and the weather was much better than last week. Tyler was ready for another day of good racing. Qaulifying started the day and Tyler did another good job coming in fifth quick. The heat races followed and Tyler started from the second row inside. At the drop of the green there was some banging going on so Ty backed off into fourth place waiting for the others to settle down. After a few laps the #81 took out the #10 and Tyler moved into third place. A few laps later #81 took out the leader #72 and Tyler drove around both of them to take the lead. Ty won the heat race and that put him on the inside of row two for the main event. The main event karts were lined up and ready to go and at the drop of the green Tyler quickly moved into second place and that is where he ran the whole race behind his buddy #83jr (Tanner"Farmer"Carrick) with whom we went to Idaho with. Tanner won and Tyler finished second again for the third week in a row. Tyler has done a great job and because of that he is now the points leader(for now). We are looking forward to next week before a two week break. Check back next week.

November 5th, 2011- Race three and rain was is the air. That's why it's called the winter season I guess. Tyler has done very well so far this season and he continued in qaulifying this day. He tied for fast time but beacause the #92 had a better second lap Tyler was awarded second fast. His heat race was next and also went well with Tyler finishing third and transfering to the main event. The trophy dash was next and Tyler started in the third row inside. The dash is always hard to pass karts because the qaulity of karts and short amount of laps(6). Tyler did a great job avoiding a tangle up and finished third. The main event was the next race and Ty started from the inside of row three. After more great driving by Tyler he was in third and soon second place behind the #72 (Brianna Puckett) again. Tyler followed giving plenty of room waiting for a mistake but the girl didn't mis her line once. She drove another great race for her third win in a row and Tyler finished second for the second week in a row. Another great race!!!

October 29th, 20011- Race two of the 2011-2012 Red Bluff season. The weather was great and the karts were ready. Another great turn out of thirty karts for the box stock class. Tyler started as always with qaulifying and he did a great job coming in second fast and would have been fast time if the kart that got fast time wouldn't have been in his way. It was a great start to race two. The heat races were next with Ty starting from the outside of row two. He got a great start and in one lap passed two karts to move into second place. He chased down the leader(#72 Brianna Puckett) and sized her up but decided to not chance it and finished second. That gave him a good starting spot in the main. After all the other classes finished their heats it was time for ther main event. Ty started from the inside of row three. At the drop of the green there was a crash in turn two and Ty got hung up on #6r but they made it through and came unhooked. Ty was in tenth place and raced hard to gain a few positions. There was another crash and Ty did a great job to make it by. The yellow flag came out and Ty was in fifth. The race went green again and Ty races his way to second. He was behind #72 again and looking for the pass but raced her very clean and finished second. Tyler has done a great job the first two races. Check back next week for race three results.

October 22nd, 2011- The winter season of racing is here and we are going to race Red Bluff for points unless plans change. The weather for race one was more summer like than winter but it was nice. The box stock class had thirty karts show up to time in and Tyler wound up seventh fast which was good but one spot from making the dash. The heat race was next up and Ty started from the inside of row two. Tyler ran a good race and finished second which gauranteed him a spot in the main event. As always there was a long break from Tyler's heat race to the main event so we watched some racing and Ty played with his friends. It was time for the main event and the line up was set with Ty on the front row outside of #72 Brianna Puckett. During the pace lap #72 did a good job moving Ty up the track so he didn't get a good start and soon after the green flag dropped Ty slid into fifth place. Soon Tyler put the #44 into fourth and was looking hard to take third but there were a few cautions and it took a few laps but Ty made the pass and was hot on the tail of the #7d$ Derrick Stone. The front three ran great lap after great lap and it would have gotten intersesting if any one of them made a mistake but they didn't and Tyler couldn't get around to second but finished strong in third. Great start to the season and we look forward to next week.

September 30th- October 1st, 2011-After the award night at Cycleland our crazy friends "The Carricks" asked if we wanted to go to Boise, Idaho to race a two day show called the "3rd Annual Topher Classic". We talked it over and made the decision to go.Me, Tyler, Dave, and Tanner headed out with Dave driving. After a ten hour drive we arrived in Boise at 12:30am and went to sleep.Friday morning we found our way around and picked up what we needed for the day and then went to the track to get set up. The track looked really good and Tyler and Tanner were having a good time and were excited about racing. The races got started with a pill draw to lineup the heat races. In heat race one Tyler finished second and Tanner finished third mostly due to the track only having one groove. The races were shortened on Friday due to time and the track was very rough in turn one and two. We resumed racing Saturday afternoon and the second heat race found Tanner starting 5th and Tyler 7th due to an inversion from heat one. The race got started and the boys didn't take long to get to second and third just like the day before and again found themselves behind a slower kart but it was just fast enough to stay out front. Tyler could have wrecked him on any given lap but he drove him clean like always and finished second with Tanner third. The trophy dash was next and because of the finishes in the heats Tyler started on the pole of the dash. The first attempt at a start the kart on the outside of Ty didn't keep up so they called no start and the race was lined up again. On the second attempt they got off to a good start and raced down to turn one where the kart on the outside of Tyler spun out. They threw the caution and then moved Tyler and the 03 kart to the back and told me they couldn't get a good start. I call it locals bull.... ! It didn't work out for them thou because Tanner took the win and Tyler raced back to third. The main event was up and Tyler started on the pole and this time he started perfectly and never looked back. Tanner got caught in traffic but Tyler was out front and after one caution he found his groove and checked out by half of a lap. They had two more cautions but Tyler was not going to be caught and continued his domination to the checkered flag. Tanner made a great pass to finish second. It was an awesome race and the boys did great. It was all worth the drive. There were some other drivers that made the long haul from California and they also did a great job. Daniel Becker won the open main with Brian Seim in third and Leana Kenyon in sixth. Another California domination!

September 17th, 2011- the last points race of the long summer season and the track looked good. Tyler started the day with a great qualifying effort and was second fast of the day. The trophy dash was up next and Ty started from the third row inside. He drove a great race and worked his way to second place. He was gaining on the leader but ran out of laps and finished second. To this point of the night Ty was doing what he needed to do to regain the third points position for the season. The main event was up next and the field was set with Tyler starting from the outside of row three. Tyler drove another great race and finished second to make it his third second of the day. Tyler finished third in points and finished the season very strong. It was another long hard fought season. Check back after October 22 to see how the winter season started.

August 27th, 2011- Another hot day at the races and the big trophy was on the line. The perpetual trophy. Tyler was ready and he finally didn’t draw a one for the first group. Ty turned a good lap and it was good enough for third fast when qualifying was over. The trophy dash followed with Tyler starting on the outside of row two. Ty raced hard and battled with the #83jr for most of the laps but couldn’t make the pass and finished third. The main event was next with the big trophy on the line. Tyler started from the inside of row four and at the drop of the green was off to a good start. The field spread out and after several cautions they settled in. Tyler was in third but wanted the lead and put on a great race with #14 for second. He tried everything and even thou he was faster he couldn’t make the pass and with two laps to go Tyler spun out off of turn two. He rejoined the field and passed six karts in the last laps to finish twelfth. Check back in three weeks for the last race results.

August 20th, 2011- I’ll make this short. Tyler qualified fifth but because the crew chief forgot the transponder he was not allowed to be in the trophy dash. The heat race saw Tyler check out take the win. Ty had to start from inside row six and drove a great race getting to the second spot and was one caution away from contending for the win. The caution didn’t come but Tyler finished second. Great Job Tyler you drove awesome!!!

August 13th, 2001- it was another hot summer day and the track was looking better than last week but we still didn’t want to qualify in the first group and guess what? Tyler drew the first group again which is really getting OLD! It makes it just a little harder to put down a good lap and you have to hope all the other karts that come out after you don’t bump you out of the top six. The trophy dash is huge when counting points and you can lose a lot if you don’t make it. After saying that, you might know where this is going. Tyler went out first in group one and for some reason thought he would try something different in turn three and it didn’t work for five laps. He qualified fifteenth and had to start in the back of heat one. The heat race started and Tyler was stuck behind the #24 of Tanner Pettit for about half the laps until the #46 took out the #6r for the lead and Tyler slid into third and a lap later he made the pass for second which is where he finished. That finish would put him inside the second row for the start of the main. With the trophy dashes complete it was time for the main event. The field was set and at the drop of the green Tyler got a great start and was first to turn one. He led about half of the 20 laps until he ran up on some lapped karts with the hard charging #6r Ryan Williams hot on his tail. Ty went high to go around a slower kart and Ryan took the inside to take the position and on the next lap the #14 of Ren Eberhart did the same thing. They stayed close together for the remainder of the race with 6r first, 14 second, and Tyler third. It was a good end to a bad start. The kart was torn down Sunday and all gone over with the engine going to the rebuilder and a new seat being installed. Check back next week to see how it worked.

August 6th, 2011- Another hot day for racing and the track didn’t look good. As always, well almost always, Tyler had to qualify in the first group and he did a good job coming in with a time good enough for fourth fast. The dash was next and Ty started from the inside of row two. The green flag flew and Tyler got a great start as the #45 kart pushed up the track and Ty went to the front where he would stay until the last lap. The white flag came out and it was a three way battle up front. Tyler got a little help getting off of turn two from the #6r and that got Ty lose which allowed the #83jr to take the lead running the top groove. Ty stayed in it to finish second but was very mad at what happened. He wanted that third dash win in a row bad. The main event was up and the karts were on the track. Tyler started from the outside of row three. The green flag flew and the field was pretty mixed up for the first few laps but settled in and Ty was in sixth place where he started battling with the #46. Ty and the #46 swapped places several times and on the last lap Ty made the pass and caught the #83jr going into turn three. Tyler was on the bottom and #83jr was side by side with him when the #46 decided he would make room under Tyler which didn’t work because there wasn’t enough track for that to work. All three karts spun with the #46 getting the best end of dumb move he made. The #83jr got going and took fifth place and Tyler ended up seventh. Some kids just don’t get it and their parents don’t either. If that is how drivers want to drive then that is how they will be driven. See ya next week.

July 30th, 2011- Race 14th and it was another hot one which should be expected for this time of year but it’s nice to dream. After a good week last week Tyler was looking forward to another good day at the track and it started with a little luck finally but it came at the expense of our friends the Carrick’s. Tyler qualified 7th but #83jr’s starter broke when he was going out to qualify and he had to go out in the wrong group and the officials didn’t allow his time so Tyler fell into the 6th spot. Because of the infraction to the #83jr (Tanner Carrick) Tyler started on the pole of the dash and he didn’t waste the opportunity has he took his second dash win in a row leading all but the first two laps. It was hard to get excited but we haven’t had much good luck so we’ll take what we get. The main event was next and Tyler started from the inside of row three. The green flag flew and it wasn’t long before Tyler was in second place chasing the #6r of (Ryan “The Rhino “Williams) but he couldn’t catch him as Ryan won his first main of the season. Tyler finished second and finished a good day of racing which cut his point’s deficit in half to second place in the standings. With five races to go it will be a battle to the end. Stay tuned! Peace Out!

July 23rd, 2011- It was another hot day for racing and Tyler and the pit crew (Ronnie and Grandpa) were going to qualify on their own because the crew chief was at a wedding. They did a good job on a wet track and qualified fifth. The trophy dash was up next which was nice after missing it for the first time last week. Tyler started the dash from the outside of the front row and at the drop of the green he was off racing #83jr (Tanner Carrick)into to turn one and was just fast enough to get to the turn first. Tyler took the lead and sailed to another Trophy dash win. It was his third dash win of the Cycleland season. Shortly after the dash it was time for the main event. Ty started from the inside of row two and was looking to get his third main win in a row. That was going to be a very tall task with the competition in this class. The race got under way and Tyler moved into second within a few laps and his chances were looking better but he couldn’t run down the #90 (Jodie Robinson) and with a few laps to go the track went away from his set up and he lost two positions and fell into fourth. Then on the last lap Ty pushed up out of turn two and opened the bottom enough for #14 (Ren Eberhart) to get bye but, Tyler didn’t give up and ran hard coming off turn four to make it close at the line. Ren beat him bye about a kart length and Ty finished fifth. It was the end of another good day of racing. Congratulations to Benny and Jessica Beth on their marriage. You guys have fun in Hawaii. See ya next week.

July 16th, 2011- What a great day for racing. The weather was good and Tyler was ready to race. On the track it didn't start that good because when Tyler was qaulifying he caught the karts in front of him and didn't get a good time. He ended up 10th fast and would miss the dash for the first time this season. Tyler was in the second of two heat races and started on the outside of the front row. He got off to a great start and didn't look back taking the win over #21b(Blake Carrick) which meant Ty would start on the outside of the front row in the main event. After getting the kart cleaned, fueled, and ready to race it was time for the main event. At the drop of the green the start of the race was a little rough for the karts on the inside row and Tyler got off to a great start. The flag man let the race continue and they were off. There were a hand full off cautions at the beginning of the race and Tyler held on to the lead with #6r(Ryan Williams) giving chase. Eventually the # 14(Ren Eberhart) would get past the #6r kart and Tyler had another hard charger on his tail. They didn't have anything for Tyler this night as he lead flag to flag to take his second win in a row to end a good night of racing. Tyler was pumped up after the race and is already looking forward to next weekend.

July 9th, 2011- It was a hot day at the races for race number 11. Tyler and the kart were ready to go. The evening started out good with Tyler qualifying third fast. He only missed second by .001 of a second. The trophy dash was next up and Tyler started form the outside of row two. The green flag flew and it wasn’t long before there was trouble on the front stretch and in turn one, but the karts all kept going and Tyler missed it all and was in third place. Tyler moved into second with a few laps to go but ran out of laps to catch the leader and finished second which was very good. After a short break for the awards presentations it was time for Ty’s main event. Tyler started from the outside of row three and had 13 other hungry drivers behind him. The green flag dropped on the race and they were off in a cloud. There were a few tangle ups at the beginning that Tyler avoided and he soon found himself in second place. The leader pushed high in turn two and Ty moved into the front spot and then the cautions started. There were four cautions in a row which was alright because Tyler was the leader and nobody got past. The racing went good after that with Tyler hitting his marks and running an awesome race but with two laps to go the 6r of “The Rhino” Ryan Williams was on Tyler’s bumper. Going down the back stretch for the last time 6r moved to the bottom but Tyler just beat him to the corner and there was contact but the 44 kept control and was first across the stripe for his second main event win in a month. Awesome job by the driver.

June 25th, 2011- Race 10, a little late on this news because I took a break with the holiday. Quick rundown. Qualified fourth, finished fifth in the dash and seventh in the main.

June 18th, 2011- The weather is warming up and Tyler is continuing his winning ways. Qualifying was first and Ty ended up fifth quick which was good for going out in the first heat again when the track isn’t as good as the later heats. It seems like we draw the first heat more times than not. The good part about fifth is that Ty would start from the outside front row of the dash. After waiting for the heat races to finish it was time for the dash. The field was set and the green flag dropped with Tyler getting a great run off the corner and tak9ing the lead into turn one. The 83jr (Tanner ”Farmer” Carrick) was hot on Ty’s tail but after a few laps Tanner spun out handing second place over to 14 (Ren Eberhart) but he was too far behind and Tyler took the win for his second dash win of the season. Shortly after the dash awards were handed out it was time for the main event. Ty started from the inside of row three. The field was set and the race got off to a good start with Ty slipping into the fourth spot. The front of the field was really bottled up but everyone settled in and the race went pretty smooth, unfortunately for Ty he dealt with slower karts a little longer than the leaders and once he cleared traffic the leaders had a sizable lead. Ty was closing on the third place kart 21b of Blake “BOB” Carrick but ran out of laps and finished fourth. It was a good night of racing and Ty will be back next week for another evening of racing. P

June 11th, 2011- Race number eight after another rain out due to unseasonably wet weather here in June. Tyler started out the evening qualifying third out of eighteen karts that signed in and that would be the beginning of a good night. After all the qualifying and heat races were finished it was time for Ty’s trophy dash. Ty started from the outside of row number two. At the start of the race Tyler got off to a good start and went into turn one on the top side of the track where he wanted to try it out. He and the 83jr of Tanner Carrick were fighting for the same real-estate when they headed into turn three. Tyler was up a little higher than Tanner and a little behind him when I believe Tanner thought he had Tyler cleared and came up the track. They made contact and Tyler spun out and Tanner hit the wall pretty good. They both took off and rejoined the field. The green flag flew again and they were off and runnin’ headed to the front. Tanner managed to get to second and Tyler finished third. The main event was the next race for the box stocks and the field was set. The karts were on the track and the green flag flew. After a few laps there was a little mix up when four karts got together in turn three. Tyler missed the wreck and was in third place on the restart after the caution. Tyler followed the 18 kart of Jason Peniagua for a few laps and the 18 proved hard to pass. Tyler did get around and was in search of the leader 21b (Blake Carrick). Tyler was closing in when Blake spun in turn four and Tyler somehow missed him and took the lead for good. Tyler didn’t have it easy thou, first he had to fend off 81 (Jayden Bartlet) and then the 14 of Ren Eberhardt. Tyler made consistent laps and Ren drove him clean as they came to the checkered flag and Tyler won his first Box Stock race of the season. Ty was very happy and the win was a good confident builder for the races to come. Check back next week.

May 21st, 2011- Race 6 and Tyler was ready for racing after the cancelled race last week. Qualifying started the evening and Tyler was the fifth fastest of the twenty karts to time in the box stock class. The next race for Tyler was the trophy dash. He started from the outside of the front row and at the drop of the green he got hung up on the outside and lost some spots sliding into the fourth position. They raced on and a few laps later Tyler lost another position and finished fifth. The main event was next up and Ty started from the fifth row inside. The green flag flew and they were off and battling for position. There was a lot of racing going on and positions changing hands for the first part of the race. The field spread out a little and the battle for the lead heated up with Tyler in fifth. The karts up front were four wide at one point and they all managed to make it through the corner. Tyler was following this group waiting for something to happen so he could make a move and not get caught up in a wreck. The wreck didn’t happen and Tyler finished a close fifth but due to a penalty to the #6r kart the #81 kart of “The Real Deal” Jayden Bartlet got his first main event win in the box stock class and Tyler was credited with fourth. The #6r was moved to fifth. Weather permitting we will race again June 4th.

May 14th, 2011- Race cancelled due to rain.

May 5th, 2011- Race 4 of this long season and the evening started out pretty good. We had good weather for racing and Tyler was qualifying in the second group of karts out of four. The kart count of twenty was the most in the box stock class so far this season. Ty ran an almost perfect lap for the track conditions on his last lap of qualifying and was the fastest of the box stocks qualifying #1. The only thing bad about being fast time is that you have to start from the back of the trophy dash and it doesn’t usually work out as far as the finish you get in the dash. Tyler finished fourth in the dash for the third time. The main event was next and at the drop of the green there was a problem up front and the race restarted with a complete restart. Tyler started eighth an worked his way through traffic until he found the #18 kart of Jayson Paniagua and he proved a little tough for Ty to pass. Ty did make the pass after a few laps and was on his way to find the leader. With just a few laps to go there was a caution Tyler didn’t need to see. The restart bunched up the field and the 83jr of Tanner Carrick had raced his way from the back after a crash on the track to fourth place. The points for the season are tight and Tanner is in front of Tyler so we wanted to finish ahead of him. The raced resumed and on the last lap Ty’s kart pushed a little high coming off turn four to the checkered flag and Tanner beat Ty by a kart at the flag. Tyler did a great job and he said “I just wanted to get one fast time in the books”.

April 30th, 2011- Race 3 and the weather was terrible. WINDY…………..Dried out the track and was not any fun. Tyler qualified fifth out of the sixteen karts that timed in. The trophy dash was next and Ty started from the outside of the front row. The race started and Ty took the lead and led five laps until he was almost spun out on coming off turn four by the #14 kart. Tyler straightened it out and caught the #14 going in to turn three and laid the bumper to him. The #14 slid up the track and Tyler couldn’t make it past but they kept going with the #83jr of Tanner Carrick taking the lead and the win. Tyler finished fourth but showed he wasn’t going to take any crap off anyone. The main event was next and Tyler started from the eighth position. The race got off to a good start and there was a lot of racing going on all over the track. Ty worked his way into fourth spot and that is where he would finish for the second week in a row. Check back next week for race four.

April 23rd, 2011- Race two after a great start to the season Tyler was ready to go. Tyler drew the first heat of qualifying which isn’t always the beast but he managed a fourth fast time out of it which was good enough to be in the trophy dash. The dash was next for Tyler and he started form the second row inside. Tyler didn’t get a great start and found h9mself in fourth place where he would stay for the rest of the race to the checkered flag. So far it was a good evening of racing, with the main event set to take the track Ty was ready. Tyler started the main in eighth place and at the drop of the green he soon found himself in a battle for fourth and after a few laps took the spot. The race was pretty clean with only one caution. Tyler raced hard and finished fourth for the finish to a good night of racing.

April 16th, 2011- The first points race of the summer season at Cycleland Speedway was already here and it was a great day for racing. Tyler and dad were both feeling under the weather but we couldn’t miss the first race even thou mom had other ideas. As always the evening started out with qualifying and Tyler ended up fourth quick out of sixteen karts. That was a good way to start the season and we looked forward to the rest of the night. At Cycleland if you’re one of the fastest six karts you don’t have to race a heat race so Tyler, being fourth fast, waited for the trophy dash which followed all the heat races. Tyler’s dash was lined up and ready with Ty starting from row two inside. The green flag flew and they were off to turn one all bottled up. Tyler made a good move to get to the bottom and he was able to get under and past the pole sitter to take the lead. He would never look back as nobody was gaining or that close. Tyler won the trophy dash which was his first at Cycleland. The main event was short to follow so after a quick look over of the kart Tyler was lined up in his third row inside starting position. The green flag flew on the main and it didn’t take long before there was some trouble. There was a multi kart pile up in turn two and the yellow flag came out to reset the field. They restarted single file and Tyler was in sixth place. The green flag started the race again and Ty was off and hunting down the leader. He drove a good race and made some good moves getting through traffic but the leader was in clean air for awhile and got out to a good lead. Ty tried his hardest passing several karts and finished in second place for a great finish to the first race of the season.

March 25-27th, 2011- TCR Racing decided to go race in Oregon at Gold Beach for the first annual “Battle of the Borders”. The weather was very bad over the mountains that lead to Gold beach but early Fri. morning we decided we could make it over Hwy 299. The trip was very wet and a little snowy but we made it in time for practice. Tyler thought the track was too small and he didn’t like it at first but he soon changed is mind. We had to make a few changes to the kart and soon had it pretty good.

Through the night the rain continued and Saturday morning it was very wet. The day started out with more practice and after a few more changes Tyler’s kart was good. The first race was a heat race and Tyler started on the outside of the front row. Ty took the win and was liking the track more and more. The second heat didn’t go as well because there was a problem setting the air pressure in the right rear as the karts were going on to the track. The kart was very loose and Ty finished fourth. He was not happy with his crew. The next race was the trophy dash. Ty started second row inside and had a great start but got into the first corner a little high and lost a few spots. He finished fourth. The main event for Saturday was next and Ty started from the second row inside. After the two lead karts had some trouble Tyler drove his way to the finish in first place. Tyler had a very good day for the first day at a new track.

Sunday we awoke to a flooded parking lot at the Hotel and more wind and rain. We went to town in search of some rain boots and headed to the track to find more water and mud than the day before. The day started with more practice and Tyler said his kart was dialed so we didn’t run the last practice session. We changed the oil in the engine and were ready for the first heat race. Tyler started the heat race from outside of the front row and was off at the green flag. He led all the laps and finished first. The second heat was next and Tyler started from the third row inside. The race started and Ty was on the move making his way to third and then on the last lap in turn four made a move on the inside to pass the second place kart and was on the bumper of the leader(7d$ Derrick Stone who’s family also made the trip from Chico) as they crossed the checkered flag. Tyler finished second. The next race was the trophy dash and Tyler started on the pole and Derrick started outside of him. They were off at the drop of the green and Tyler got the jump and took the win when the checkered flag flew. So far it was a great day and Tyler was excited for the main event. The main event was the last race of the day and Tyler started on the pole with Derrick, again, on the outside. The green flag started the 25 lap main and Tyler got off to a great start and took the lead. Derrick in the 7d$ found some trouble going around turn three and brought out the caution. The race resumed and Tyler was pulling away from the field and led all 25 laps to take his second main event win. Tyler was not only the main event winner but the” Battle Of The Borders” Champion for the 5hp Open class. Other than the weather the weekend was awesome and Tyler and Derrick won all eight races for the two days. We made the drive home after the trophies were handed out and went to bed. The Cycleland summer series starts in two weeks so check back for more news. Peace Out! Congratulations Tyler! From your Web Guy...

March 13th, 2011- Last points race of the Red Bluff season. The day started with Tyler four points behind the 6r of Ryan Williams for rookie of the year and it stayed close until the end. Qualifying started the day as always and Ty did a good job but ended up one spot out of the dash (7th) which could have been more points. The other thing was that the 6r was 6th and made the dash. The heat race was next and Tyler raced hard for a third place finish and that meant he would be in the “A” main. The 6r didn’t fare as well in his heat race and he didn’t advance to the “A” main and would have to race the “B” main for a transfer spot. The “B” mains were lined up and the 6r did a great job winning his “B” main which meant he would start 13th in the “A” main. Shortly after it was time for the trophy dashes. The 6r started on the pole and that is where he finished. Follow me here. Because the 6r didn’t advance from his heat race to the “A” main that meant the 7th fast kart would start on the pole because he did transfer and that was Tyler. The main was set and the karts were on the track. Tyler started first and Ryan started thirteenth which put Tyler 16 points ahead of Ryan at the drop of the green but, they had to finish the race to settle this and that was a problem. Tyler led the first 5 ¾ laps until the hard charging 8jr decided to spin Tyler out and Ty had to go to the back. Tyler passed a few karts which included the 6r once but couldn’t get through traffic and had to avoid a few wrecks, slower karts, and his kart started cutting out. When it was over he finished in 14th spot and the 6r finished 12th. It was a very frustrating race to say the least. Congrats to Ryan for the rookie honor and Kofoid for the championship. Tyler had a good season and finished 7th in points. If he only had a little good luck. See you at Cycleland.

March 11th & 12th, 2011- The West Coast Nationals. We’ll keep this short. Qualified 14th Friday, donated on Saturday to re-qualify, only got in one lap before caught traffic, qualified 14th. In Ty’s heat race he started 5th and raced his way to 2nd. Over the two days drivers accumulated points to see where they would start in the mains. Tyler didn’t have enough points to make the “A” main so he started on the pole of the “B” main. Top four transfer to the “A” main. Tyler got off to a great start and was out front until his engine started cutting out. He came into the hot pits and we got it re-fired and back on the track. The yellow flag came out because Ty stopped on the track so once everybody was lined up the green flag flew again. Tyler passed four or five karts and then the engine died again. That was the end of the race for Tyler. He didn’t make the “A” main but after he settled down he was fine. Two years in a row with bad luck at the Nationals. We told him that there would be a lot more chances to do better and to keep up the good work. Cycleland Speedway gets started April 9th.

February 12th, 2011- It was race twelve and a very nice day weather wise. Qualifying was first as always and Tyler did a very good job. He was fourth quick after the first round and that is where he would end up. The heat races were soon to follow and Ty started from the second row of heat one. His heat race went smoothly and he finished third. After the always long break between Ty’s races he was front and center with the other five fastest karts in the infield to be announced to the crowd before the trophy dash. At the start of the race the two lead karts were called for jumping the start so that allowed the second row to move to the front for the start. That put Tyler on the pole and at the drop of the green he was off and went into the first turn side by side with the 14( Ren Eberhart) on came out with the lead. He had the 14 on his tail for all six laps but held hi of for his third trophy dash win of the season. After the dash it was time for the main. The main got started and soon after the trouble started. There were a lot of crashes to avoid which Tyler did a good job but while avoiding one of the crashes his carburetor sustained some damage and his throttle was sticking open. He drove the rest, about half, of the race that way using the brakes to slow the kart. He was running in sixth place when he almost spun out coming to the white flag and his engine almost died. He kept it going and finished the last lap but lost six spots. It was a good finish for having to drive the kart with the throttle stuck. The next and last points race is March 5th so check back and see how it ends.

February 5th, 2011- Point race 11 and the weather was very nice. The track was good and qualifying was first up. Tyler qualified 11th fast which was off from the last two races but I think it was a pit crew error. The heat race was next and Tyler ran a good race to take the heat win. After the normally too long Red Bluff break it was time to go racing again in the main event. At the drop of the green flag in the main the karts got a little mixed up in the first turn and a kart hit the wall in front of Tyler. He spun the kart out to avoid the wreck but his air filter got knocked off and he came in the pits to get it fixed. The race resumed and he did a great job avoiding a few more wrecks and drove his way to a 6th place finish. It was a pretty good day of racing, check back for more results.

January 28, 29, 30th, 2011- During the two week break from Red Bluff racing we decided to go try Lakeport Speedway and race for their perpetual trophy.
Friday was a test and tune session and Tyler had the opportunity to race a lot of laps. We got the kart better through out the day and were pretty confident going into Saturday morning qualifying.
Saturday Tyler hit the track in the first session and went to the top of the leader board with the fastest lap of the session. The second session Tyler didn’t improve on his time but two other karts did putting Tyler into to the third spot. The trophy dash was the first race after qualifying and Tyler started from the outside of the front row. At the drop of the green Ty got a great start and had half a kart length lead going into turn one. Tyler came off turn two with the lead and stayed out front to take the dash win. After the dash Ty had to race a heat race which he started from the second row outside. At the start he got forced up the track and got loose causing him to lose two spots and that is where he finished, sixth position. The main event was next on the schedule and Tyler was starting from the front row outside as he did in the trophy dash. Tyler tried the same move at the drop of the green but the 72(Brianna Puckett) stayed side by side and Ty got hang out on the top which cost him a few spots and he slid into sixth. Tyler then moved his way into fourth but with a few laps to go there was a crash in front of him and he went high to avoid it but lost two positions to two karts that went low putting Ty in sixth and that is where he finished to end a good day of racing.

Sunday was the race for the perpetual trophy. The day started with qualifying and the track conditions were a little more slippery than Saturday. Tyler ended up eleventh quick after the two sessions were over. The team was a little disappointed after the good lap laid down the day before but Ty was only 0.150 seconds off the fast time which shows the level of competition in the class. Tyler didn’t make the dash so his first race of the day was a heat race in which he started from the front row outside and at the drop of the green got a great start and won the race to the first corner. He came off turn two with the lead and at the checkered flag he had almost a straight away lead. The kart looked good and we were looking forward to a good run in the main. Tyler started the main from the inside of row four and the six fastest karts of the day in front of him. They were on the track and ready to go at the drop of the green flag. In the middle of the first turn there was a crash and Tyler went high to avoid the crash but the kart behind him went over his right rear tire knocking him into the wall and his carburetor off. With some help we zip tied the carburetor on and Tyler was back in the race as the green flag was getting ready to fly again. Tyler finished the race in the back of the pack but he was OK and that‘s what matters most. We’ll regroup and head back to Red Bluff next weekend.

January 15th, 2011- Race number ten and the day started out great with Tyler being first fast after the first round of qualifying but ended up fifth overall which was great compared to the way he qualified the last couple of races last year. The heat races where next and Ty finished fourth which meant a direct trip to the main event. The trophy dash was next up for Tyler and he ran a great race running the fasted lap of anyone in the dash. He finished a respectful third. The main was lined up and on the track. Tyler started from the inside of row number two. After losing a couple of positions due to avoiding a crash Tyler had the 44 in sixth place. The white flag came out with one lap to go and Ty headed into turn three with his friend and tough competitor 7ds (Derrick Stone) hot on his tail. Then there was contact between the two and they got stuck together for a little bit with 7ds breaking free and Tyler losing seven spots. Tyler was very mad and upset but he’s ready for the next race. We will spend our time off from Red Bluff racing at Ty’s favorite track, Lakeport. Check back to see how he does.

January 8th, 2011- First race of the new year and it turned out to be the best overall night of the season for Tyler. First was qualifying and the 44 ended up sixth quick out of 24 karts. The heat race was next and Tyler because of his sixth fast qualifying time. Ty got off to a great start and I don’t think he ever lifted. The 8jr kart of Brian Mcgahan Jr. gave him a good ran and ran him clean but Tyler took his second trophy dash win of the season. The main event was next and Ty started on the pole. Ty got off to a great start and led the first eight laps until he got called for jumping another single file restart by the dumb a** officials. After a hard fought race Ty finished fifth. It was a great night of racing and Ty was excited and very happy. Check back next week and hopefully the year continues the same way as it started.

December, 18th 2010- Race eight and another cold rainy day. Ty qualified thirteen out of the twenty two karts in box stock. The heat race was up first and Tyler started from the inside of row three and soon found himself tangled with 44m (Bailey Martin). Ty went to the back and managed to pass two karts to finish sixth. Only the top four transfer to the A main so Tyler had to race the B main. The karts for the B main were on the track and set to go. Tyler led most of the race until he was called for jumping a start after a caution. ??????????????????????? The only track in the world where the leader of the race on a single file restart is called for a jump. Unbelievable! Tyler finished second and transferred to the A main. Congrats to the 1b (Chelsea Blevins) for her first B main win. It was time for the main and Tyler had to start deep in the field. Seventh row outside. The race started and ended about as fast with not many cautions. Tyler ended the race in the tenth position. Check back next year when racing resumes Jan. 8

December, 11th 2010- Race seven, half way through the season. Qualifying was first and Tyler ran well but in the tight field his run was twelfth quick. The heat race was next and Tyler found himself starting on the pole. He got off to a great start and sailed to the finish, with a sizable lead on the field, for the win. He drove a really good race. The main event was next and Ty had to again start in the middle of the pack. The green flag dropped and they were off. Tyler did a good job of avoiding several crashes and close calls to finish seventh which matched his best A main finish of season.

December, 4th 2010-Another rainy day for race six. The track was in really good condition following the week off and the qualifying times were expected to be fast. Tyler did a good job but his time came in twelfth quick. The heat race was next and Tyler was starting from the pole. At the drop of the green Ty got off to a great start and was in the lead by turn one. Tyler drove a good line and took the flag to flag win for his third heat race win of the season. The main event was lined up and ready to go and Tyler was starting from row six. The race started and it was a nail biter with several crashes and close calls and at one point Tyler found himself at the rear of the field but when it was finally over Ty was in eighth place.

November 20th, 2010- Another wet day of racing for race five. The weather was bad but the track was in good shape after the mess last week. Tyler qualified eight for a pretty good start to the day. The heat races were next and Ty started from the outside of the front row. At the drop of the green Ty got a great start and beat the 72(Brianna Puckett) to the first turn. Tyler lead for most of the race until a lapped kart caused the 89(Michael Call) to get by and Tyler finished second and that was good enough to transfer to the “A” main. After a short break, compared to last week, the main event was lined up and ready to go. The flag dropped on the race and they were of. Tyler did a good job missing some crashes and was running in fifth place when the 14(Ren Eberhart) made contact in turn one. They both spun but Ty kept going although he last several spots. The race resumed and after a few more crashes and a mixed up field the race ended with Tyler in the eighth spot. It was a good finish to a wild race. We’ll be off next week and then back on the track Dec. 4th the day before Ty’s birthday. Peace out!

November 13th, 2010- It was a good day for racing and race number four was set to go. Ty qualified 11th and he wasn’t very happy after making the dash last week. He thought he could make it again but I told him it was tough in this class because the karts were so close and he couldn't leave anything on the track. His qualifying spot did put him on the pole for his heat race and that was a good thing. The heat races started shortly after qualifying and Ty was ready to go. The race started and Tyler got off to a great start and didn’t look back taking his second heat race win of the season. After an extremely long break (6 hrs.) due to a very rough race track that caused more cautions than usual Tyler’s main event was up. Tyler had to start from the outside of row five which meant he had his work cut out for him if he was going to get to the front. The green flag dropped and they were off. The first few laps were good but then the crashes started. Tyler avoided the crashes and soon found himself in four place. He didn’t stay there long as the #6(Blake Johnson), 55x (Angelo Cornet), and 38x (Hollis Shane Thackery) passed him after a few laps and Tyler was in the seventh spot. That is where he would finish for the end of a very long day and the “bumpiest race ever” Ty said. We’ll be back next week.

November 6th, 2010- point race three and it was a much nicer day than the past two race days. Tyler started the day off great with a sixth place qualifying effort, which meant he was in his first box stock trophy dash. Better yet he would start from the pole. The heat race was up next and Tyler finished in fourth after running third until a lapped kart cost him a spot. It was time for the dash and Tyler was pumped up and ready to go. The green flag dropped on the dash and Tyler got off to a great start and never looked back taking his first ever trophy dash win. After all the excitement it was time for the main event which Tyler would also start from the pole. The race started and Tyler led the first six laps until the # 11 (Kofoid) passed him and Tyler settled into second for the next eight laps, but coming off turn four Tyler spun out and had to go to the back with six laps to go. Ty finished thirteenth for the second disappointing week in a row. He was upset but is more fired up to get back next week than ever. He's had two great runs but hasn't got the finish he deserved. He'll try again next week so check back and see how he did.

October 30th, 2010- Race number two and the rain was threatening again but held out. Tyler started out with qualifying and ended up fourteenth in a tight field of karts. The heat race was next and Tyler started from row three inside and raced hard to finish fourth which advanced him into the main event. After the long break and some trick or treating the racing was back underway. Tyler had to start deep in the field for the main because of his qualifying position. The green flag flew on the main event and they were off and runnin’. The racing was intense due to some crashes and close competition. Tyler made it through the wrecks and raced past a few karts to find his way into third place. On the last lap Tyler set his kart for turn three and right in front of him the leader crashed into a lapped kart and he wasn’t able to avoid the wreck. The second place kart was on the top groove and made it past but Tyler crashed and finished thirteenth. Tyler drove a great race but ran into the same bad luck that cost him winning the West Coast Nationals early this year. He’ll go get’em again next week.

October 23rd, 2010- The winter season has started and race one is in the books. It was a rainy day but a good day for racing. The “COBRA’S” first attempt to qualify in the box stock class at Red Bluff went well. There were 22 karts in the class and Tyler ended up 9th fast only .20 sec. from first. The rain kept falling and it was time for the heat race. Tyler started from the outside of the front row next to the 81(Colton Able) in the first heat. Tyler got off to a great start at the drop of the green and never looked back. There were a few tense moments when the 10(Erik Nelson) kart tried to take Tyler out but ended up spinning himself. Tyler won the race with the 8jr (Brian McGahan) close behind. After a long break in the action it was time for the main event. Tyler started from the fourth row outside. The green flag flew and they were off. Tyler didn’t get a very good start and dropped a few spots but settled in and drove a good race. Tyler ran in the sixth position for most of the race trying to pass the 81 but on the last restart Tyler moved up the track and the 6r(Ryan Williams) passed (illegally) to the inside and then the 38x(Hollis Thackeray) passed on the outside on the front stretch. It was a busy finish to the race and Tyler finished 9th. The day went well and it was a good start for the season.

September 25, 2010-The awards night marks the end of the summer season and it has been a long one. The day started with some hot laps and qualifying. Tyler qualified third and looked good going into the main event. Tyler started the main from the third row outside. Tyler settled into the fourth place and that is where he would finish. After the racing was completed the Cycleland Crew put on a good BBQ and award ceremony. Tyler picked up his third place trophy for the second time of the year as he finished third in Red Bluff aswell. Graph X Designs should have our year end photo posted on the pics page soon. We will be in Red Bluff on the 16 of October for practice.

September 18th, 2010- The last race of the summer was ready to hit the track and Tyler found himself just eight points ahead of the 55t (Tanner Carrick) for the third spot in the standings. Tyler made the call to run the gear he said he did the beast with and he was right when it came to qualify. Tyler qualified second fast out of the 19 karts that put up a time. The fast time went to 21b (Blake Carrick) which is Tanner’s younger brother. The trophy dash was next and Tyler raced hard but couldn’t make up any ground. Tyler finished in the fifth position and was ready to race some more. The main event was lined up and Tyler started from the fifth row. The green flag dropped and the race was on. Tyler was racing hard and found himself in a lot of traffic the entire time. The race was going by pretty fast as there were no cautions for the first half of the race. Tyler had only passed one kart when the green flew again to resume the race. Tyler soon found himself sandwiched between the Carrick boys and they were all racing really hard. It was exciting to watch and nerve racking at the same time thinking about the points situation. Tyler was in the seventh position and the 55t was in sixth. On the white flag lap the 55t got tangled with another kart and then got hit hard by the 55d. Tyler made it past and finished sixth which wrapped up the third position in the standings for the season. It was a good year and Tyler showed improvement at the same time having fun racing. Tyler finished the year 3rd at Red Bluff and 3rd at Cycleland. The awards night is next week and hopefully we can add some pictures. Check back next week for the results of the awards night race.

August 28th, 2010- It was time for the big race of the year when the big trophy was on the line. The perpetual trophy race always brings more karts to the track to try and claim the prize. The night started the same as always with qualifying. Tyler did a good job and turned the fifth fastest lap out of the 19 karts that showed up for the special night. The fifth fast time would put Tyler on the outside front row of the trophy dash. The dash was lined up and the green flag dropped. Tyler settled into third place and that is where he would finish. The only thing different about this race was that the main event would be lined up with the dash karts in the front instead of the heat winners. This would have been great except they drew a pill for an inversion and Tyler went from the front row to the second row. The main event was set to go and they were off at the drop of the green. With just a few laps down Tyler found himself having to avoid a spun kart when he was hit from behind and then hit hard in the driver’s side by the kart behind him. The crash put Tyler to the rear of the field but also pushed the right nerf bar into the left rear tire. The green flag flew after the caution and Tyler was on his way to the front with the tire rub and all. It was sure the tire wouldn’t last the entire race and fortunately for Ty a kart turned over and brought out a red flag. We got the bar pulled clear of the tire and the race resumed. Tyler drove a great race having to come from the back through all 19 karts but could only pass 11 of them before he ran out of laps. It was a good driving job and a good finish considering the crash and the tire issue. The points have tightened up considerably and the last race is going to be interesting so check back for the final race on Sept. 18th.

August 21st, 2010- Race 17 and it was a good night for racing. Tyler was ready after another third place main event finish last week. Tyler took to the track to qualify and ended up in the seventh spot one out of the dash. Tyler would have to race heat race number one and he started from the pole. He was off at the drop of the green flag and soon had a pretty good lead but coming out of turn two Tyler spun out. Tyler finished fourth and that meant he would have to start deep in the field for the main event. After a few changes to the kart it was time for the main. Tyler started inside row seven and at the drop of the flag to start the race he was of and making some moves towards the front. Tyler found himself in the middle of a lot of traffic and that’s where the trouble started. After spinning out trying to avoid a crash he raced his way up to sixth but then some more karts crashed and Tyler had to cut across the grass infield to avoid the wreck. He lost a couple of spots but soon gained them back. With a lap and a half to go Tyler again found trouble with some other karts and lost a couple of positions. He raced hard on the white flag lap but couldn’t make up any ground and finished tenth. Overall it was a frustrating night but Tyler had fun and that’s what matters. Check back next week.

August 14th, 2010- Race 16 was set to start and Tyler was ready after a good finish the week before. The night started good with Tyler qualifying in the fourth position. The trophy dash was next and after some tough racing the 44 ended up fourth again. The lineup for the main showed Tyler starting from the outside of row four. They were lined up and ready and the green flag flew with Tyler getting a great start and he moved into the fourth spot. After a few good laps of hard racing Tyler moved into the third spot. Tyler could have used a caution to get the field bunched back up because the first and second place karts had a good lead. Tyler raced hard to hold on for a third place finish for the second week in a row. It was a good night with the season winding down and only three races to go. Check back next week.

August 7th, 2010- Race 15 and we were hoping for much better results after last weeks engine failure. We had the engine rebuilt and we were about to see how it would run. The track started out a little slicker than the kart was set up for and Tyler qualified in the twelfth position. The good news was the engine ran good. Tyler had to race one of two heat races because he didn’t make the top six for only the second time of the year. Tyler started from the inside of row two in heat two with four other karts. The green flag flew and they were off and racing toward turn one which they got through cleanly but coming out of turn two the 81 and 55t got together which opened the door for Tyler. Tyler took the lead and never looked back taking the checkers about half a lap ahead of second place. Tyler was very happy and said “don’t touch anything”. The main was next and Tyler took the green from the outside of the front row. Tyler got a great start and went into turn one in the lead and held on to it for a few laps before the 11and 89 both got past. The field settled in and the front three cruised to the finish with a hard charging 14 in a close fourth. It was a good night following the disappointment of last week. Check back next week.

July 31st, 2010- The season is cruising along and race 14 was upon us. The track was in good shape and it was time to qualify. Tyler took to the track and made the first two corners coming to the flag stand when something happened to the engine and the kart wouldn’t get up to speed. Tyler ended up last and there was work to be done. We worked on it in the pits and thought it might be fixed but it was obvious as soon as the green flag dropped on the heat race that it wasn’t. Tyler finished four in the five kart heat. We went to work on the engine again but decided to change it when the Bartlett’s offered their spare engine. We changed the engine just in time for the main event. Tyler started sixteenth when the green flag dropped. Tyler charged through the field like crazy driving harder than I think he’s driven before. He soon found himself in fifth place chasing the 55t when a lapped kart almost crashed him. He avoided the kart but lost a position to the 6r. Tyler took the white flag but going through turn two the kart came around on him and he had to sit there and wait for the other karts or he would have caused a big crash. He took off and finished the race in tenth which was still good considering. Tyler had a lot of fun in the race which made the earlier part of the day a little easier to take. Check back next week.

July 24th, 2010- Race 13 and it was another hot evening. The track started out with a lot of water on it with hopes it would last through the night. The first group of box stocks hit the track and Tyler was off and running. Tyler ran some very good laps and took the second fast time. It was a good start to the night. The trophy dash was up next and Tyler started from the inside of row three. He got off to a slow start but soon caught the 6r which he passed and caught the 89 going into turn three but he was on the outside and he pushed up too high coming off turn four and 6r passed him back. Tyler caught back up and passed the 6r again but couldn’t catch the 89. Tyler finished fifth and was off to the main event where he would start from the fifth row inside. The main event karts hit the track, fifteen of them, and they were set to go. The green flew and they were off and racing. The first few laps there were karts all bottled up all over the track and the Carrick boys (Tanner 55t and Blake 21b) got into one another and tangled on the back stretch. Tyler moved into fourth place and took the yellow. They lined back up and were off. It was a good twenty laps of racing and Tyler held on to the fourth spot to finish a good night of racing. Check back next week.

July 17th, 2010- Race twelve and it was another hot one. The track was in good shape and everyone was ready to go. Tyler ran some good looking laps and ended up fifth out of sixteen karts. The trophy dash was next and Tyler started from the outside of the front row. At the drop of the green Tyler was off and in the lead. He knew he had to try and get a lead because #11 and #14 would be on his bumper quick. Tyler led for four laps but spun in the middle of turns one and two when the two before mentioned karts and Tyler went three wide. Tyler kept going and finished fifth. The main event was next and Tyler started from the fifth row inside. At the drop of the green two karts got together and the green flag stayed out. Tyler was soon in fourth place and looking for more. Two karts passed Tyler and he was now in sixth. The second and third place karts then got into a wreck and Tyler slid into third. He stayed there until turn three with the checkered flag out. He raced the #14 down the back stretch side by side and when they got to the corner Tyler had just a nose on Ren when he came down too soon and spun himself sideways but didn’t get out of the throttle and over the burm and through the infield he crossed the line in sixth. He was very angry because he wanted to beat the #14 bad. We told him he did a great job and next week he could get after again.

July 10th, 2010- Race 11 was here and after a week off the weather decided it was time for summer. The temp. was over 100 and the karts were ready to hit the track. Tyler ran some good laps and qualified 6th. After cleaning up the kart and sitting around through the HEAT races it was time for the trophy dash. Tyler started on the pole but at the drop of the green the #14 of Ren Eberhart was hot on his bumper. Ren made the pass and Tyler fell into 2nd for a few laps. going into turn three Tyler bobbled and the #11 and #89 slipped past. Tyler finished in 4th place which was pretty good considering he told me the kart was loose and that was why he got passed. The evening brought a little cooler temps. and it was time for the main event. Tyler started from the outside of row 4. At the drop of the green a couple karts tangled so the field was lined up single file for the restart. This time everything went smooth and they were off and racing. Tyler was in 4th for awhile and then he found himself in a heated, two and three wide, battle for position. Tyler tried the bottom of the track but couldn't make a pass so he went to the middle/top and things were a little hairy. Tyler ended up in the 6th position but when he got out of the kart he said "That was stinking awesome, I love running the top just like Sean"The Shark"Becker." It was a good day for the first race after a break. We will be back next week so check back.

June 19th, 2010- Race nine and the weather was good for racing but the wind was bad for the track. The track started out pretty dry and qualifying was set to hit the track. Tyler took off and soon caught the #6 subbing for the 14. Tyler passed the 6 down the front stretch and the 6 spun Tyler out coming off of turn two. Tyler gathered it back up and qualified fifth after the remainder of the karts went out. The trophy dash was up next and Tyler was to start from the front row outside. They were off at the drop of the green and Tyler fell into the second spot within the first lap. Soon the 38 (driven by a 250 driver this week because Hollis can’t win cheating with his kid driving) was all over Tyler’s bumper and made the pass. Tyler finished third which was good for the team. The main event was set to hit the track next and Tyler was starting from the fourth row inside out of thirteen karts. They were off at the green and Tyler soon was in second place. After a few laps the 38 caught and passed Tyler for the second spot and Tyler tried his best to catch the 38. He didn’t catch him but he did hold off the 55t (Tanner Carrick) for the third spot. It was another good night of racing. Check back next week for race ten before we take a week off for Tyler’s crew chief’s B-day.

June 12th, 2010- Race eight and the temperature was on the rise but, the wind made it a little cooler. The track conditions started a little on the drier side compared to last week and Tyler’s crew was a little off. Tyler did a good job and qualified 6th which meant he would start on the pole in the dash. The dash was set to hit the track and Tyler was excited to start on the pole but he knew the always fast #11 and #14 were going to be on his tail soon. It only took a little over a lap for #11 to get there and he made the pass. Tyler held on to 2nd but the #14 almost caught him at the line. It was a good race and a good warm up for the main event. After all the dashes were finished it was time for the main. Tyler started from the outside of row three and at the drop of the green they were off and racing. Tyler drove a good race making many good moves and avoiding a few crashes. Tyler finished in 4th place for the second week in a row. It was a good day of racing and we’re looking forward to next week.

June 5th, 2010- We were back racing after a weekend off and the weather was starting to warm up. Due to the weather the track started out a little sloppy. Tyler qualified in the fifth spot. The kart looked good and Tyler was happy to be back at the track. The trophy dash was next and Tyler started from the outside of the front row. The green flew and the drag race was on going onto turn one. Tyler was side-by-side at the corner but let off to make the turn and fell into fourth place. Tyler would go on to finish in fourth which is a good solid run. The main event was next and the karts were ready to go. Tyler started from the fourth row outside. The green flag flew and they were off to a little rocky start but thing settled down and the race was on. There were a few tense moments but things went pretty well. The battle up front was heating up and Tyler found himself in sixth place. He caught the fifth place kart and made the pass while at the same time passing a lapped kart. Tyler was in fifth on the white flag lap when the fourth place kart tried to crash the third place kart and spun himself instead which let Tyler slide into the forth spot. It was a good night for having a week off. Check back next week.

May 23rd, 2010- Race six before a weekend off. Tyler started as always with qualifying and wound up in the sixth spot. He was excited because he would start on the pole of the trophy dash. The crew was a little nervous about almost missing the dash. The trophy dash karts lined up and were off at the drop of the green. The out side lane didn't get a good start and Tyler was off with the lead with #11 Michael(Buddy) Kofoid on his tail. Tyler had eight laps to hold off the fastest box stock kart at Cycleland and he did a great job but, with one lap and a corner to go a lapped kart spun and took a split second of Tyler's attention and that was all Buddy needed to make the pass. Tyler finished second and was happy that he ran well and he said the kart was really good. The main event was next and Tyler was started from the third row outside. The green flag flew and they were off. Tyler ran well and almost got crashed once by the 38 but held on to finish fifth. It was a good evenong of racing before the break. Have a great Memorial Day weekend and check back in a couple weeks.

May 15th, 2010- Had some computer problems so a little late with the news. Race five was here and Tyler was ready. This was the first race that all classes would qualify in order of point’s position starting with first place and so on. Tyler went out third in line and ran a very good lap putting him in third place. The trophy dash was next and Tyler started from the outside third row. Tyler filed into fourth and ran there until the checkered flew. The day was going pretty good so far and Tyler was ready for the main event. The main event karts were lined up and ready to go. Just before the karts were pulling on to the track Tyler’s engine died for some reason so we pulled out of line and finally got it going just as the green flag was in the air. Tyler entered the track and the caution came out due to a crash at the start. The field was lined up again and Tyler had to start from row eight instead of row four where he was suppose to start when his engine died. The green flag flew again and Tyler was off to find the leaders. Tyler drove a great race and finished in the 4th position for the end of a pretty good night of racing. Check back next week.

May 8th, 2010- Race number four and looking for another good night of racing. Qualifying was first and Tyler wound up in the third position. The kart looked good after making a few small changes over the past week. The heat race was next and Tyler started from the outside of row three. The outside line didn’t get a good start and they got shuffled back. Tyler found himself in fifth place and that is where he would finish. The main event was next and the karts were lined up. The green flag flew and they were off and racing. Tyler was on the move from his fifth row starting position. Tyler drove a good race and took the checkered flag in the 4th position.

May 2, 2010- Race three was here and Tyler was looking to have a good day after the bad luck last week. The evening started out with qualifying as always and Tyler did a good job coming in 4th quick. The next race was the dash and Tyler started in the second row for the second week in a row. At the drop of the green they were of and the field got a little mixed up but settled in with Tyler in the 4th position. Tyler raced hard and was all over the tail of the 38 who was looking pass the 22x. The 38 passed the 22x and Tyler was soon to follow which didn’t let the 38 get too far away. Tyler overhauled the 38 in short order and was off to find the leader which wasn’t going to be easy since the 11 was long gone. Tyler finished 2nd and was looking forward to the main. After a short break the main event karts were on the track and ready to go. Tyler started from the outside of the third row with the always fast 11 inside. The green flew and they were off to a good start. The karts settled in and there was a lot of good racing all over the track. Tyler’s kart was tight but he was able to hold off the hard charging 6r. The leaders were in sight and having a good battle of their own but Tyler couldn’t make up any ground and finished in 3rd for a good ending to the night. Check back next week. Special Thanks go out to First Responder Emergency Medical Services and The Hunting Crew for sponsoring Tyler’s Han’s device.

April 24th, 2010- Race one was a good start to the season but race two hopefully got all the bad luck out of the way. The evening started out good with Tyler qualifying 4th. The track was fast and the competition was fierce. The trophy dash was Tyler’s first race of the night and he would start from the second row inside. At the drop of the green the order got shuffled up and Tyler fell into 4th place. Tyler stayed in that position until the last lap when the 2nd and 3rd place karts got into each other fighting for position in turn three. Tyler was able to pass one of the two and finish 3rd. After watching a lot of good racing in the other classes it was time for the main event. They were lined up and pacing the field coming to the start. When the green flag flew Tyler got crashed by the kart on the outside of him so they had to realign the field. I don’t know how the officials figured out the restart order but Tyler got the worst end of their calculation and the kart that caused the crash started two rows ahead of Tyler ?. The green flag flew again and Tyler raced hard from the back to 6th place when the 38 and 6 crashed into each other and Tyler had no where to go. He slid into the other two but then took off but he got stuck on the berm and had to be pushed off which counted against him as an assist. The field was reset again and they were off with Tyler in the back. He raced past a couple of karts and coming out of turn two he found the 38 kart again spinning out of control again. Tyler almost made it past but they got tangled and they had to be separated which counted against Tyler for his second assist and he was sent to the infield to end his night in only five laps. Tyler was very disappointed and didn’t understand why the karts that caused his night to end early got to finish the race (38 two cautions). We told him he would have to come back next week race hard and don’t worry about this week.

April 17th, 2010- The summer racing season is here already and point race one was set to go on a very nice day. Tyler was ready to go with his new Han’s device and some new body parts on the kart. Qualifying was first to start the day. Tyler ran some good laps and ended up in the third spot. That was a good run for the first race of the season. The trophy dash was next in line and Tyler was starting from the second row outside. At the start the kart in front of Tyler didn’t take off with the leader and Tyler was stuck on the outside. The race settled in and Tyler ran in fifth for most of the race and that is where he would finish. Tyler was mad at the outcome but we told him he could get them back in the main event. Tyler would have to come from the fifth row to get to the front. The main event line up was set and there were eighteen karts set to go. The green flag flew and they were off and racing. Tyler drove a really good race making some good passes and avoiding a few wrecks. Tyler ran down the third place kart of Tanner Carrick but at the same time the fifth place kart of Adam Favors caught Tyler. The trio caught a lapped kart on the last lap and Tyler ended up fifth at the checkered flag. It was a good start to the season. Check back next week for more news.

March 12th & 13th, 2010-The points season was over and it was time for the WEST COAST NATIONALS. The prize was the big eagle trophy. Karts came from all over the western U.S. to try and claim the prize. Tyler qualified 7th overall out of 26 karts and that made him eligible for the DASH for CASH. Tyler started 6th and drove a very good race to finish in 3rd place. After the long rainy day it was time to go home and get some rest. Saturday started with qualifying heats which drivers gained point to add to their qualifying points to determine their starting position in the main event. Tyler ran most of the race in 2nd place but the leader flipped on the back stretch and Tyler took the lead for good. Tyler got the win which meant he would get a good starting spot in the main event. After a ridiculously long break in was finally time for the main event. Tyler started from the 2nd row outside and was off to a great start at the drop of the green. In just a few laps the top three karts had some separation from the field and Tyler was running 3rd but hunting for 2nd and it wasn’t long before he was in 2nd. The leader was next in his sites and Tyler was all over the back of the #6r (Ryan “Rhino” Williams, your 2009-2010 RB Outlaws B. Box Champion) and in a little bit of a scary moment #6r flipped in turn four giving Tyler the lead with about fifteen laps to go. After three or four cautions Tyler was looking good and the second place kart #55x (Angelo Cornet) wasn’t showing that he could make a run. Tyler was flying and soon found himself in lapped traffic with two laps to go. While taking the white flag partially in the infield while passing a slower kart on the front stretch, the #55x and #78 were gaining ground. Heading into turn three there were some lapped karts in the way and the #2c spun out so Tyler went high to avoid a crash and bumped into the #78 who had a good run on the top. The second place kart #55x tried to follow Tyler and ended up crashing into Tyler on the left side. Tyler flipped over and landed on his wing while #78 made it through and took the win. It was the WORST feeling ever. I think the whole grandstand sighed. Tyler didn’t win the big prize but he didn’t get hurt, he had, fun, and he drove a GREAT RACE. Cycleland starts April 3rd with a practice so check back after a short break. Also check out www.DuarteFamilyVineyards.com they are a new sponsor of TCR Racing and they make a very good wine.

March 6, 2010- The last race of the winter series was here and the point battle for third was tight. Tyler had a 12 point lead going into the race. Tyler started by qualifying 8th which wasn’t too bad. The heat races were next and Tyler had to start in the back of his heat. Tyler got to the bumper of the second place kart but couldn’t make the pass after several attempts. Tyler finished third but due to an illegal driver change by the kart that won the heat they were disqualified and that put Tyler in a transfer spot. After a long wait it was time for the “A” Main. Tyler started in the middle of the pack and ran a very tough race. He finished in 7th place two spots behind the #78 (Brad Dolin) who he was trying to stay ahead of in points. Tyler did stay ahead of him finishing the season in 3rd place

February 13, 2010- Race 12 was here and so was some pretty nice weather. Qualifying was first up and Tyler was looking for a top six spot and he got it qualifying sixth. The always nerve racking heat was next and Tyler ran a great race racing his way into second. Coming to the checkered flag in turn three #6(The Rhino) drove under Tyler and they came out of turn four side by side for the transfer spot to the “A” main. The Rhino beat Tyler to the stripe by about half a kart. Tyler had to run the “B” main for a transfer to the “A” main. Tyler ran another good race and finished second to the other 44. (44m Bailey Martin) The trophy dash, which Tyler has missed the last two races, was up next and he was on the pole for the start. The green flag dropped and they were off. The #81 (Jayden Bartlett) won the race to turn one and Tyler tried several time to get around but couldn’t make the pass and finished second. After a break in the action the mains were lined up. Tyler had to start in the second to last row but once the green was in the air he was on the hunt for the lead and with some much needed luck and great driving he finished fourth. It was a good day for points and confidence headed to the last points race of the season.

February 6, 2010- Back at Red Bluff for race 11 and hoping the good racing from Lakeport would carry over but the day started out a little slow with Tyler qualifying eleventh out of 24 karts. My suspicions of the engine getting weak might be true. The heat race was next and Tyler finished four which meant he would have to go to the always wild “B” main to try and get the transfer spot to the “A” main. Tyler started fourth and was running there until the third place kart spun out right in front of Tyler and crashed. Tyler had to go to the back of the field and the race resumed. Tyler raced his way back up to fifth but the laps ran out and Tyler didn’t make the transfer. It was another bad luck week which seems to be the norm here at the end of the season but we’re not giving up yet. We’ll be back next week to try it again. If you’re interested our newest sponsor http://www.Fathead.com has given us the code “KART” for you to enter for free shipping on your order. Check it out!

January 30, 2010- We had two weeks off from Red Bluff so we figured we would go try Lakeport Speedway and try that again. Tyler liked racing there last year and wanted to go again. We showed up 9:00am Sat. morning and it was a very busy place. There were a lot of karts. Tyler’s first time on the track since last year was qualifying and it was like he raced there all the time turning the third quick time. Tyler ended up third fast behind #6r (The Rhino) Ryan Williams and the Lakeport points leader of the class. The heat race was up next and I told Tyler to stay out of trouble and keep the kart in one piece. He ended up fifth. The next race was the trophy dash and Tyler was on the pole. The Rhino who was on the outside beat Tyler to the first corner and Tyler was unable to make a pass and finished second. Next up, the reason we were there, the main event for the Perpetual Trophy. Tyler started from the second row and they were off. After a few early cautions Tyler found himself in second behind #44m (Bailey Martin) it was looking like it was going to be a 44 show but slow traffic and a crash that Tyler and

January 16, 2010- Race 10 and the big trophy was on the line. It was the Red Bluff Perpetual Trophy race. The perpetual trophy is always a highly sought after award so the drivers seem to push a little harder to claim it. Cold weather and rain were in the air and the track was pretty tacky. Tyler’s pit crew didn’t quit hit the set up right and Tyler qualified 7th. We thought at least that would make for a better stating position through out the night but we were wrong. Apparently the officials decided to do something different on this day.? Tyler started in the rear of his heat and at the start of the race was crowed to the bottom where he caught the burm and climbed the wall and over ha went on his side. The race was restated single file and Tyler was off. Tyler was passing the #85 kart when that driver decided to crash into the side of Tyler but he kept going and finished second. The long wait for the main event saw a lot of crashing as that turned out to be common on this day. The main event was set and Tyler was on the inside of row three for the start. Tyler raced hard and avoided some crashes on his way to a seventh place finish. Tyler was disappointed but after the tip over in the heat race it was an OK day. Red Bluff is taking the next couple of weeks off but we do plan to race Lakeport Speedway for their perpetual trophy on Jan. 30th. January 9th 2010- The New Year started out with Tyler qualifying number one. The heat race was challenging because of the karts that were in Tyler's heat. There were three karts that were fast and Tyler had to start in the back. Tyler raced to third and after the #11w spun out he was in second behind #44m (Bailey Martin). Tyler was on Bailey's bumper but couldn't make the pass. He finished second and got the transfer spot to the "A" main. The year was much better already. The dashes were next and Tyler started in the back because of being fast time. Tyler raced his way to third and stayed in that position just beating the #92L to the checkered flag. After a short break the main event was set to go. Tyler started from the eighth position. There were a lot of cautions in the early part of the race but then settled down. There seemed to be something wrong with Tyler's kart because he couldn't make up any ground and finished in the eighth spot. It was a much better day than the last two races of 2009. During the ride home Tyler said his kart was loose and something was wrong with it and that is why he couldn't go any faster. We inspected the kart Sunday and found the problem, a flat left rear tire due to a good size hole in the sidewall. We will put on a new tire and be back next week to try it again.

Dec. 19th, 2009- Tyler hit the track hoping for some luck this week and at the start it looked good after qualifying first fast. The only thing with qualifying fast is it makes the rest of the day harder. It's kind of being penalized for being fast. The heat race started terrible when 92L(Lexi Raudmen) drove Tyler to the wall at the start of the race. Tyler played catch the leader but couldn't get ahead after the terrible start. I thought the kids were suppose to learn in this class but apparently dirty racing is what is being taught. Tyler finished fifth which meant(due to the kart count) off to the "C" main. Tyler lapped the field several times and won the "C" but next was the "B" main. Tyler started in the back and in a few laps was in fourth but tangled with #10(Eric Nelson) trying to make a pass on the inside with a slower kart up high three wide. The race restarted and Tyler was back to sixth and gaining ground when the #85 crashed into him as he was making the pass on the front stretch. Tyler went to the back again and ran out of laps in sixth place. No "A" main two weeks in a row is very bad luck. The racing wasn't over yet because the trophy dash was still come. Tyler started the dash in last place and found it was going to be hard to pass. On the last lap the leader and the second place kart crashed in turn two and Tyler finished third. We'll see if the Holidays bring any good fortune. Happy Holidays.

Dec. 12th, 2009- Tyler qualified second but couldn't get the tranfer in his heat finishing fourth. Ty started from the front row of the "B" main and was taking the lead when he tangled with a lapped kart. The "B" main is not where you want to be because the true beginners in this class are veryyyy slow and a danger to themselves and others because of the speed difference. Hopefully the parents see this and try somthing else. Tyler managed to race back to sixth which was awsome but didn't make the "A" main. Tyler wasn't done racing thou because he was in the trophy dash. Tyler started int the back and finished third. Hope for some better luck next week.

Dec. 5th, 2009- It was a cold and windy day of racing at the Bluff. It was also Tyler’s eighth birthday. The racing began with qualifying and for the second week in a row the track started out fast. Tyler was second fast after the first round and that is where he would end up after the second round. Tyler ran a very good lap of 10.375seconds. The heat race was next and Tyler was ready to go and not to the “B”main this time. He raced his way to the front pretty quick and on the last restart following a caution he took the lead for good from #21B(Blake Carrick). The trophy dash was up next following a short break. Tyler started inside of the last row (row three). Tyler raced his way to third place and almost had second at the checkered flag. The main event was the last race and Tyler found himself deep in the field for the start. Coming around turn four in lap one Tyler was trying to make the pass on #10(Eric Nelson) when they touched wheels and Tyler tipped over on his side. It was the first time Tyler had been on his side and after the race he said it was fun and it made him go faster. I think it did make him go faster because after he was right side up again and the red flag was put away the green flag flew and he was off. Tyler was picking karts off left and right heading to the front where the 55x (Angelo Cornet) was cruising out front. Tyler caught him and tried to make the pass but couldn’t quite do it. Tyler crossed the finish line in second place which was a great finish considering lap one. Check back next week.

Tyler was picking karts off left and right heading to the front where the 55x (Angelo Cornet) was cruising out front. Tyler caught him and tried to make the pass but couldn’t quite do it. Tyler crossed the finish line in second place which was a great finish considering lap one. Check back next week.

November 21, 2009- Race five already! The season is going by pretty fast. Speaking of fast, Tyler qualified FAST TIME for this race. The 55x almost caught him but Tyler ran his fastest time ever with a 10.353 second lap. The heat race was next with Tyler starting in the rear of the six kart field. Tyler made a few passed but the laps ran out and Tyler finished third which meant he would have to go to the “B” main. Tyler started on the pole for the “B” and was off and racing. After several cautions and some good driving by Tyler he took the win a transferred to the “A” main. The trophy dash was next on the schedule and Tyler had his work cut out for him if he wanted to get to the front. The dash is only six laps so it’s hard to get up front. Tyler made some really good moves and made the pass for second just before the checkered flag. The main event was lined up and Tyler was deep in the field, starting ninth. The green flag dropped and Tyler got tangled with 55x but they separated and were back in the race. After a lot of good racing, a few cautions, and tense moments Tyler finished third. It was an awesome day at the races. We will be off for Thanksgiving weekend but back at it on the fifth of December which is also Tyler’s eighth B-day. Check back and have a good Thanksgiving.

November 14, 2009- Race four and Mom has been released from her duty as crew chief. Qualifying was first and Tyler ended up third quick. The heat race was next and Tyler started in the back. Tyler raced hard and ended up in the second position. After the long break the trophy dash was lined up and set to go. Tyler started third and finished fourth. So far it was a good day of racing and the main event was next. Tyler started in the middle of the pack and raced hard to get to the front. Running fourth on the white flag lap there was a tangle up and the third place kart got gathered up and Tyler got threw and finished third. It was another good day for the TCR Racing team.

November 7, 2009- Race number three and Mom is still in charge. After some trouble with officiating last week it was time to get after it. Tyler qualified third and was off to another good start. The heat race was next up and Tyler finished second behind #81 (Jayden”Jay Bug” Bartlett), congrats Buggy. The trophy dash was next and Tyler started from the fourth position. When the checkered flag flew Tyler was in third place. So far the day was going good. The main event was lined up and ready and Tyler was on the outside of the front row. After a few cautions Tyler found himself out front and held the field off through several more cautions to take his first victory of the season. AWESOME JOB!!! Special thanks to the Stone’s, Bartlett’s, and anyone else that helped the TCR Racing team the last two weeks. Thanks Bob and Clarence for making sure my engine was in good shape while I was gone.

October 31, 2009- Halloween night and Mom is in charge. There was never any doubt that ever thing would be fine. Qualifying started the day as always and Tyler did awesome with the second quick lap of the day. Heat races would follow and Tyler did another awesome job winning his heat race. After a short break it was time for the trophy dash Tyler started fifth and that is where he finished. The main event was next and it was an exciting one with a lot of action, cautions, and lead changes. Tyler did a great job and finished second. It was a good end to a good day until Bob took the engine for inspection. That’s another story.

Oct.24, 2009- The first race of the winter series was here and it was a busy day. The weather was good and the karts were plenty. Tyler started out with qualifying and when it was over he was fourth fast. First race out and going to the dash. Tyler started fifth out of five for his heat race and was off to find the lead at the drop of the green. Tyler was trying to pass the first and second place karts coming out of turn four but the leader lost control and crashed into Tyler. Tyler got it gathered back up and went to fourth. The green flew again and Tyler headed to the front. Tyler made the pass for the lead at the white flag and took the checkered flag. After a bit of a break it was dash time. Tyler started second row inside. It was a pretty clean race and Tyler finished where he started, third. The main event was set to go and Tyler found himself second row inside again behind 44m (Bailey Martin, also numbered after Matt Shelton of M.J. Shelton General Engineering). Bailey didn’t get off to the best start at the drop of the green and the outside pole sitter took the lead. During the race Tyler ran second or third the entire race with a few chances to pass but didn’t force the issue. At the white flag a slow kart bottled up the field coming out of turn four and the 44m came out of it in second and Tyler was third. That’s how the race ended for a good start to the Red Bluff season. Congratulations to 78 (Brad Dolin) for is first “A” main win. The crew chief for the 44 “Cobra” will be out of town for the next race so MOM will take charge. Check back in a couple of weeks for the latest.

September, 19th 2009 – the last race was here and it was another hot one. Tyler was ready after the break to do some racing. We drew the undesirable first group to qualify but it ended up working out alright. Tyler was on the throttle as soon as he hit the track and ended up second fast out of the twenty three karts that showed up. It was a great start to the night. The trophy dash was next with Tyler starting on the inside of row two. The green flag flew but Tyler and another kart made contact and Tyler fell to the rear. Tyler spun out one time due to pit crew error but he kept going and finished in sixth. The main event had the makings of a wild race but the Box Stock kids shows awesome skills and ran twenty laps with twenty three karts and only had one caution. Tyler started on the outside of row six. Tyler drove the best race I think he has ever driven because of the karts he passed, the way he passed them, and the karts he held off. It was a really good race and Tyler ended up in the sixth position. Next week is the awards night and a special race. The winter season will be starting soon so check the schedule. See you at the races.

August 29th, 2009- Point race 18 was another hot day and the track started out pretty wet. The track was perfect for Tyler to qualify. Tyler ended up second fast. That is the fastest he qualified all season. If it wasn't for a yellow flag and getting held up by another kart he might of had fast time?. The trophy dash was next and Tyler started in fifth place, third row inside. At the start Tyler got stuck behind another kart and it took him a few laps to get around which gave the rest of the field a good lead. Tyler finished fifth. Congrats to 55T (Tanner Carrick) for another trophy dash win. That is who Tyler is chasing for rookie of the year. The bad thing about finishing fifth in the dash is you have to start tenth in the main and that makes it tough to get to the front. The main got off to a good start and it was pretty much follow the leader for awhile until two karts got together and the caution came out. Tyler was running in seventh place on the restart and that is where he finished. It was a good night of racing and now we get two weeks off before the last points race.

August 22, 2009- The 17th race of the season was here but it didn’t get off to a very good start. The box stocks were lined up to go out to qualify and the timing computer went out. After a bit of a delay it was decided to race heat races lined up by point standings. Tyler was in the second heat and started on the front row outside. The green flew and they were off. The race went without incident and Tyler finished second which meant he was in the dash. The dash was next and the track was pretty dry. With a few changes to the kart Tyler raced a good race with 55T (Tanner Carrick) on his bumper and finished third. The main event was next and Tyler had to start inside of the fifth row. The race started off good and went with a few problems towards the back of the field but not many. Then on a restart the fourth, fifth, and sixth place karts got tangled and Tyler missed the wreck. The rest of the race went pretty smooth and Tyler finished 6th. It was a good night all around. We’ll be back next week. See ya. Tyler says Peace.

August 15th, 2009- Race 16 was here and the season is winding down. The TCR crew made more changes to the kart trying to get the kart back to the dash and it worked. Tyler went out in the second group of three to qaulify. Out of the first ten karts Tyler was the only one in the 12 second bracket with a 12.7sec. time. The track was getting faster thou and there was some good karts coming up in the last group. when it was over Tyler was fourth quick. We were all very happy. The next race was the trophy dash. Tyler started in the second row on the inside. When the green flag flew the leaders got together and Tyler ran up on the burm and he moved back to fifth spot. The race went on without any more trouble and Tyler ended up sixth. Finishing in sixth spot was going to put Tyler deep in the field for the start of the main. We were just glad that Tyler made the dash again so we weren't worried about the starting spot. The main event got off to a little bit of a rough start but everyone settled in and they were off. There were a few spins which Tyler narrowly avoided and a caution but overall the race went pretty smooth. Oh ya! There was the time Tyler spun out in turn four at the same time #22x (Wade Townsend) spun. When Tyler took off he pulled out in front of #6r (Ryan Williams) and Ryan spun which gathered the leader #55t (Tanner Carrick) but it didn't hold them up long and they were off again. Tanner who was thre leader and #6e (Emily Williams) who was in second lapped Tyler with a few to go and Tyler held on to eighth place for a pretty good night. CONGRATULATIONS to #55t TANNER CARRICK for his first main event WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWSOME JOB!!!!!!!!!!

August 8th, 2009- Race 15 is here just four to go. For the second week in a row Tyler got stuck behind a slow kart and it cost him a trophy dash start. The heat race was going to be a tough one with some good karts. Tyler started on the inside of row two and they were off. The #44 didn't get off to a good start and was running in fourth where he would run for the entire heat race. a fourth place heat finish would put Tyler deep in the field for the start of the main event. Tyler started in 14th place in main. The race started and they were off. It was a bit crazy until things spread out a little bit and Tyler found himself having to dodge a couple of crashes. When it was all over Tyler ended up ninth which was alright considering the starting position. The team will regroup and try it again next week. Check back for more news.

August 1st, 2009- Race 14 was here and it was still pretty warm. Tyler qaulified 8th but had a kart that should have been better. During qaulifying Tyler caught a slower kart it cost him a spot in the trophy dash. Tyler would have to go get them in the heat race. After a few changes to the kart it was time for the heat race. tyler was on the outside front row. He didn't get off to a very good start as thge kart pushed up the track on the start. He found him self in 4th place. There was a little trouble with some other karts and Tyler gained a spot. The heat race ended with the #44 in 3rd place. The main event was up next and Tyler started on the inside of the second row. The race started and it was a mad dashy for the front. Tyler settled in in fourth. There was a couple of cautions and Tyler avoided a few wrecks but after going high to miss a kart that spun the #44 found himself three wide down the back strech and nobody was lifting. In the middle of turn three #21a (Adam Favors) moved up the track to avoid the #21(Michael Ing) and drove up on Tyler's left front tire which sent the #21a and Tyler spinning. Tyler took off without damage but the #21a driver wasn't feeling so good and he pulled into the infield. Tyler lined up in sixth and that is where he would finish. It was a pretty good night for TCR Racing.

July 25th, 2009- Race 13 was another hot one. The crew made several changes to the #44 and were hoping it would work. Qualifying showed that the changes were too much. The kart was loose and Tyler qualified 8th. We tightened up the kart and were ready for the heat race. It was close for a few laps with Tyler almost getting under the 55t (Tanner Carrick). Tyler ended up 2nd. The kart looked pretty good but there was more work to do. The main event was up next with 55t and 44 on the front row, same as the heat. At the drop of the green Tyler raced hard but being on the outside hurt Tyler again when they got to turn one. Tyler fell in behind 55t and the race was on. The field spread out and the 44 was running mid pack and pretty much hung there the whole race. Tyler took the checkered flag in 7th place. It was a decent night but the point battle has tightened with the 55t and 21a tied only seven point behind Tyler for fourth place. Check back next week. I forgot to mention that Tyler raced with his chin stiched up and derma bonded due to a bike crash he suffered on Fri. Karts are safer than bikes!!

July 18th, 2009- Race twelve was the hottest to date with the temperature over 105. We were hoping for better results than last week and it turned out OK. Tyler qualified 8th missing the dash by .2 seconds. The kart looked good and Tyler drove good lines but just not quite enough speed. The crew needs to do more work. Tyler started on the pole for heat number two. At the start of the race the outside pole sitter took a little early but the start stood and the race was on. Tyler finished second and would start second row outside in the main event. Going into the main the points race was tight with #55t (Tanner Carrick) hot on Tyler’s tail. The #44 needed a good finish. At the drop of the green the outside pole sitter didn’t go and held up the line so Tyler dropped from fourth to eleventh. The field spread out quickly and Tyler was in the middle fighting for positions. Tyler was able to pass three karts and finished 8th. On two of the restarts the #9(Brown) jumped the starts and was penalized two spots so Tyler will get credit for 7th. Good for Tyler, bad for Tanner the #55t was involved in a crash during the race and finished 13th. The crew will go to work and try to find more speed for next week. Check in next week.

July 11th, 2009- Another hot one for race eleven. Tyler started out as always with qualifying and he wasn’t very happy when it was over. He ended up tenth over all out of seventeen karts. It was disappointing but there was more racing to go. The heat race started and Tyler was off trying to catch the leader. He almost caught 22x (Townsend) on the last two laps but finished second. The main event was up next. The #44 started on the outside of row two and at the drop of the green he got shuffled back because of being on the outside with no room to get to the bottom lane. As the race went on the field was really spread out and there was action every where. Halfway thru the race Tyler got spun out by the #89 (Michael Call) and lost two spots. Tyler couldn’t make up any ground and was frustrated in the kart. He brought it home in 11th and was not happy at all. The team had to have a talk and get settled for next week. Check back next week for more results.

June 27th 2009-HOT!! HOT!! Race ten was by far the hottest day of the season and the year. The temp. gauge was reading over a 100 when the racing began. The track was in good shape for qualifying. Tyler ran his quickest qualifying time with a 12.9 second lap but missed the dash finishing 8th. The track was changing fast with heat and the lap times were falling for all the classes. By the time heat race two for the box stocks came around the track wasn't bad because of some water being put on the track after qualifying. Tyler started from the pole and was off like a shot at the drop of the green. He never looked back and checked out on the field. The #44 took the checkered flag a half a lap ahead of second place. The heat race win meant starting on the outside front row of the main event. The sun finally went down and it cooled off a little and it was time for the box stock main. It was an all Tyler front row with #9 (Tyler Brown) starting on the pole and #44 on the outside. The first attempt at a start wasn't very good with the #9 jumping the start as he's always told to do. They lined back up and were off with a good start. #44 was dead even down the front stretch but being on the outside wasn't good. Coming out of turn one Tyler was in fourth place after being passed by #11 (Kofoid) and #6e (Williams). After a few laps third place #6e spun and Tyler moved into third where he stayed for awhile until the dangerous but fast #11p (Robinson) muscled his way past, at least he didn't crash Tyler like he's done to others. From that point on the race stayed green with Tyler finishing in fourth for another top five. It was a good day of racing considering the heat. Next week No racing for the FOURTH. Have a great holiday and check back after July 11th for the results.

June 20th,2009- We are halfway through the season and point race nine is here. The night started with qualifying which turned out better than last week but no dash. The #44 will be back in the dash soon. Tyler was eighth fast and that put him on the outside of the front row for the heat race. The heat race got off to at great start and Tyler had a good run down the front stretch but Tyler had to slow for the corner because he wasn't far enough ahead to take the position. After the start Tyler ran second but could gain coming out of the corners but not close enough for the pass. Tyler finished second and that meant the main event would start the same way the heat started with Tyler on the outside of the front row. The green flag flew for the start of the main and Tyler got another great start but still couldn't clear #11p. Soon the #11(Kofoid) and #6e(Williams) passed Tyler and the race settled down up front with Tyler in fourth. The race went green for a few laps but Tyler couldn't make up any ground. He held his own and was running some good laps. After a few caution laps the race resumed with 1st to 4th staying the same. Tyler brought it home in fourth for another top five finish. Next week we will be back for more.

June 13th,2009- Point race eight didn't get off to a good start because Tyler apparently pulled a groin muscle. He wasn't sure if he could race. Tyler decided he could race so off he went to qualify. The track was pretty wet and the groove was narrow. Tyler ended up 11th. The heat was next with Tyler starting on inside of row two. It was a good race but Tyler couldn't catch the leader #21A(Adam Favors), it was a good run finishing second with a bum leg. Tyler started the main second row inside again. With 15 karts starting the main it was intense. Tyler ran a really good race. He had to avoid a few wrecks and a lot of lapped traffic to bring it home in 5th place. Tyler will rest the leg and hopefully feel better next week.

June 6th,2009-The weather couldn't have been much better for race seven. The track was good and the box stocks were fast. Tyler reported the kart was loose after he qualified 9th. Tyler didn't make the dash but he was starting on the front row of the heat race next to #21(Michael Ing). Tyler ran second but took the lead when a slow kart made #21 go high and #44 went to the bottom. Tyler came of turn two with the lead and checked out to take the heat win. This meant pole position for the main event. The green flag dropped and Tyler got a great start. Tyler led for awhile but soon found #11(Michael Kofoid ) looking at the inside. Tyler held him off for a few laps but Kofoid made the pass. The next kart to hunt down the #44 was # 6e(Emily Williams) and after a lap she made the pass and opened the door for the #11b(Ryan Robinson) to sneak past. Tyler settled into fourth and rode it out to the end. It was a good night for the team. We will work on qualifying next week.

May 30th,2009-A few days before race six Tyler was getting sick with a sore throat but he wanted to race so here's what happened. The night started with qualifying as always. Tyler was fifth quick and looking pretty good at this point. As the night went on Tyler looked tired but said he was ready to go. The trophy dash was next with Tyler on the outside front row. He didn't get off to a great start but the race was on. Tyler ended up in fifth place. The main event was next and Tyler had to start in the back. It took the 44 awhile to get going but he worked his way up a couple of positions and was in need of a caution to reel in #21(Michael Ing). Tyler was gaining a little bit each lap but there weren't enough laps. Tyler finished fifth for the third time of the night. It was a good night considering Tyler not feeling well. When his main was over he went home for some needed rest. Check in next week for new results.

May 16th, 2009-Race five Cycleland paid tribute to the military by calling the race Armed Forces Night. It was hot out so they put a lot of water on the track to start the night. Tyler ran a little too low during qualifying putting him seventh quick. Shortly after Box qualifying the track computer became erratic and the officials decide to line up the dashes by points. That was good for Tyler because he is third in points and his time wasn’t quick enough to get into the dash. Starting second row outside Tyler was off to a good start in the dash. The kids, as always, drove a great race and Tyler finished third. The main event was next and the lineup was set. Tyler fell in behind #11(Kofoid) at the start and they were off to find the leaders. Tyler got caught up in traffic and it took him a few laps to get clear. Behind him coming fast was #6e (Williams). The race was pretty clean and went by fast. Tyler was running four when the white flag flew. Williams passed Tyler but he was closing on third place as they went into turn 3. Just out of turn four the third place kart 11x (McDowell) got loose and Tyler came across in third. The track officials decided to make the race a non-points race because of the problems with the computer. It would have been a good points night for Tyler because the fourth and fifth karts in points didn’t show. It was still a good night because Tyler drove another great race.

May 9th, 2009-Rain cancelled race number three so we took it easy for a week and Tyler put in a few practice laps at home. Race four started with hot laps and qualifying. Tyler missed the trophy dash by one position, qualifying seventh. Tyler started on the pole of the heat race. He didn’t get off very good at the drop of the green so he slipped into second. After sizing up 55T (Tanner Carrick) for a few laps he made the pass on the inside and took off for his first Box Stock heat race win. Tyler was excited and ready for the main event. Starting on the pole Tyler got off to a good start and the race was on. A few laps into the race there was a caution for a crash in turn four. Racing back to the yellow Tyler was passed by 6E (Emily Williams) and restarted in second place. After just a few more laps 6E had engine trouble and fell back. Tyler was in the lead for a few laps when 11 (Michael Kofoid) made the pass. 11 and 44 took off to a good lead when the caution flag flew again. The field was bunched up and Tyler “The Cobra” found 21 (Michael Ing) hot on his tail. The race resumed and Tyler finished second. This was Tyler’s best finish in his third Box Stock start.

April 25th, 2009-There was excitement in the air after a great first race in the Box class. After qualifying we were even more excited because Tyler was fourth quick out of 14 karts. The trophy dash was a very good race. The first half of the race had a few yellows and Tyler made it through OK. He drove a great race and finished third. The main event was next. The main got off to a good start with all kids doing a great job. After the first half of the race Tyler was in third place and the leaders had a pretty good lead. The last half a dozen laps found Tyler in a good race for third with 8jr (Brian McGahn Jr.). Tyler got a little side ways on the white flag lap and 8jr was right there to take the position which was good because Tyler might have spun and lost more positions. Tyler finished fourth which was awesome for his second Box Stock race. Hopefully there will be some new pictures on the picture page from www.GraphXDesigns.com check it out.

April 18, 2009- The first points race at Cycleland and the first race for Tyler in the Box Stock class. The family was a little nervous but the nerves were settled after qualifying fifth. That was an awesome feeling for Tyler and the rest of us. Tyler started on the outside of the front row for the trophy dash and got off to a great start. A few laps in Tyler lost grip and started to spin. With no place to go #21, Michael Ing, crash into the side of Tyler and rolled on his side. Michael was all right and the race resumed. Tyler ended up in fifth place. The main event was next with Tyler starting ninth. At the beginning there were a few crashes but once everything settled down it was a good race. Tyler drove and awesome race and finished unofficially third. There was a possible infraction on a restart that might put us in second. Either way it was a great job for the first night in a new class. Tyler will be back next week so stay tuned.

April 11,2009- The Cycleland season is here and the first race is the Spring Challenge. Tyler went into the summer series in the beginner box class. We wanted to see how he would adjust going back to Cycleland after only racing there one season. He didn’t miss a step. He hit the track and took off like he just raced there last week. We knew he wouldn’t stay in this class as he showed he was ready to move up to Box Stock. The race went on after lapping the field in the first hot lap session it was on to session number two. Tyler had lapped the field and took the white flag when he spun in turn two. Tyler took off again and won the heat. The main event Tyler started on the pole and was off and running. Tyler won the race and that is when we decided for sure he was moving up. Our Subaru was sent to get converted to the Box setup on Monday morning. Next week should be exciting.

Feb.27th-28th, 2009-TCR Racing decided to try Lakeport Speedway for their perpetual trophy race. Friday was a practice day and Tyler took to the track like he raced there all season. After driver and crew figured things out the “COBRA” ran the second fastest lap of the day. Things looked good going into Saturday. Saturday started with an hour and a half of practice for all the karts. We ran the first session and Tyler was fourth fast, so we parked the kart to save the driver for the race. Qualifying means everything at Lakeport because it sets the mains. Tyler qualified 5th only .029 seconds from 4th and the trophy dash. Tyler started second in his heat with all but one Red Bluff regular. Tyler finished second and it was off to the “A” main. Apparently they don’t want their kids to learn how to start a race properly in Lakeport so they use a quad to pace the field. It was a little different for Tyler but he had it figured out after the heat however, the quad rider changed it up a little in the main and didn’t go when he was supposed to. Tyler was anticipating the start and took off when the rider showed the same move as the heat but Tyler passed the quad so they restarted the race. The start was good but Tyler got passed in turn one. Tyler filed in behind the leader and the race was on until about halfway when #11x took Tyler out while running side by side on the short back stretch. Tyler dropped to the rear of the field and finished 9th when it was over. For not racing at the track before Tyler did a GREAT JOB.

Feb.14th, 2009-After the crash last race the kart was pretty bent but it was straightened and ready for action. The new front end parts and a tweak to the frame must have been what was needed to get a few more tenths because Tyler qualified 4th quick. This was Tyler’s first trophy dash appearance. Tyler finished 4th in a tough heat number four. The 4th place qualifying spot and not transferring out of the heat put Tyler on the pole of the “B” main. Tyler checked out on the field and drove an awesome race. The trophy dash was next with Tyler inside of the second row at the start. The race was close and Tyler finished where he started 3rd. The “A” main was another great beginner box race. The kids drove really well. Tyler finished in 9th place the same as he started. For all the repairs done to the kart it was a good night.

Feb.7th, 2009- Tyler qualified 11th on the slightly reconfigured track after the two week lay off. Tyler started on the outside of the front row in heat 3. The first attempt at a start didn’t work very well so the field was realigned and on the second try the #44 was off and running with #38x Hollis Shane Thackery close behind. There was no threat for the lead as Tyler drove a great race taking the win. Sorry to say #23h Dustin Heath didn’t transfer to the A main. Tyler started 7th in the A main and ran into trouble literally about half way through. Tyler hit the front stretch wall a ton avoiding a crash in turn four. After a quiet moment Tyler thankfully was alright but that couldn’t be said about his #44 kart or his helmet. The visor broke off of his helmet, the frame was very bent, and all of the steering components were bent. Tyler lined up at the rear of the field for the restart and off they went. Somehow “The COBRA” managed to wheel his kart to the finish without a visor and the right front tire barely touching the ground. He was awesome and finished 8th. We will assess the damage and see what happens next week.

Jan.17th, 2009- The race after the Big Win started with Tyler qualifying 11th. Heat 3 Tyler started on the outside of the front row. The green dropped and the yellow was soon to follow. Tyler and the #38 Bennett Gooch III went into turn one side by side and ended up tangled. Tyler finished 4th which meant off to the exciting B main. Tyler raced hard with the always fast #81 Colton Able close behind. Tyler won the race which was good for a 9th place start in the A main. The A main was full of great racing as always in the beginner class. Tyler “The COBRA” Rodgers finished 7th with #11 “Buddy” Kofoid taking home the big Perpetual Trophy. Congratulations to #7 Derick Stone (one of the Amigos) for his first trophy dash appearance and for WINNING the dash. AWSOME!

Jan.10th, 2009- The 2009 racing season couldn’t have started any better. The day started with qualifying. Tyler found himself in 9th place which meant he was in the fastest heat #1. Tyler finished second to the always fast #11 “Buddy” Kofoid. Second place meant straight to the A main. The B main on the other hand was full of very fast karts and one of the fastest every night (55x) unfortunately didn’t make the A. A new year, a new paint scheme, and a pole position start in the A main was a great way to start the year, but it got better. The green flag dropped and they were off. The hard charging 81 tried everything to spin the 44 but Tyler drove hard and never lifted. The other close call came with one of the other Amigos (23h Dustin Heath) pulling up side by side but Tyler held him off. When the checkered flag flew “The COBRA” was the first to cross the stripe. This was the first A main WIN for Tyler at the Red Bluff track.

Tyler “COBRA” Rodgers paint scheme unveiled. Check it out. Happy New Year’s.

Dec.20th, 2008 – Last race before the Holiday layoff. Race eight saw some very fast qualifying times with Tyler running his best of 10.780 which put him in 11th. That time just two weeks ago would have been 3rd quick. The heat race went fast with Tyler getting off to a good start but the fast 55x made the pass for the lead when they went three wide passing a lapped kart. Second place meant skip the B main. Tyler ran his fastest lap ever in the heat with a 10.508. The A main went very well with Tyler finishing 5th which equals his best finish of the RB season.

Dec.13th, 2008 Race seven started with a vveerryy muddy packing of the track. I know we race on dirt(Bob) but after my kart hit the wall three times and got ran into several more I was not very happy about the conditions, Tyler didn’t like it much either. QRC probably doesn’t mind. Enough about that, Tyler qualified 10th with #7 just in front and the #23h stepped it up and left the two amigos three spots behind him. GOOD job Dustin. Tyler started outside front row in his heat with an overly aggressive 9A inside. The race got off to a bad start for Tyler who found him self playing catch up. Tyler finished third which spelled B main. The line up for the B found #7 and Tyler on the front row. They both got a great start swapping positions a few times during the race. Derick #7 came out on top with Tyler a close second. The A main was going good with some good racing action until Tyler Brown #9 hit the turn four wall very hard head on. Luckily Tyler B. seems to be alright. His kart didn’t fair as well. Tyler #44 was up to 4th at one point and looking good but some of the karts that went to the back because of cautions came charging hard. Tyler finished up 8th. Tyler gained a little on the points battle.

Dec.6th, 2008 -HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER Big 7- Race six started as usual #23h, Tyler, and #7 qualifying 8, 9, 10. As the season goes on all the drivers are picking up speed. Tyler has been faster every race but so has the competition. The heat race didn’t start too good, Tyler got into the 6r on the start sending him to the rear of the field. He gave it a good try but ended up four. The always treacherous B main went pretty well with a few close calls and nervous moments but Tyler made it through finishing 3rd. The A main went smooth with very few problems. These kids in our class do a very good job of racing for their experience level. Tyler finished 10th and made a small move in points.

Nov.22nd, 2008-Race five started with qualifying as always and found Tyler, #7, #23h, 11th, 12th, and 13th. Tyler started his heat race from the outside of row two. When the green flew Tyler had the lead going into the first corner with #81 hot on his tail. Tyler held off #81 to take his first heat race WIN and a fifth place starting position in the “A”main. In the main fourth place was in reach but couldn’t quite make the pass. Tyler finished 5th making that his best finish at Red Bluff.

Nov.15th, 2008-Things were looking good for race four. The three amigos qualified 7, 8, 9, with Tyler in 9th. Tyler started on the inside of row two in his heat race and had the lead by the time he crossed the start line. Followed closely by 38x the entire race Tyler stayed out front until the last corner coming to the checkered flag when a lapped kart bunched things up. Tyler went high and 38x went low with the low line winning out. Tyler looked very good and the second place finish meant no “B”main. Yeh! The “A”main ended with #44 in 7th place (#23h 6th, #7 8th see) it was the best finish so far.

Nov.8th, 2008-Race three we made an engine change (Special thanks to M.J. Shelton General Engineering Inc.) to the subaru. We qualified 8th but couldn’t quite get into the transfer spot in the heat race so off to the “B”main again. The three amigos, as we’ve been calling them (#7, #23h, and Tyler), finished 1, 2, 3 in “B”main. We call them this because they always seam to be together on the track. The “A”main ended with another 8th place finish with #7 and #23h right in front of Tyler.

Nov.1st, 2008-The second race went about like the first. A 3rd place finish in the heat meant back to the “B”main. Tyler raced very well, with a number of cautions, restarts, and lapped karts it was a nail biter. Tyler transferred again and improved with an 8th place finish in the “A”main.

Oct.25th, 2008-The first race of the 08-09 season started with an 11th place “A”main finish it was the only main of the night without a caution. We got there by transferring out of the “B”main. Tyler started were he left off at the end of last season. It was a good start to the season.
